Paws Not Claws (ON HOLD)

II

It was a fresh Morning, when Bambam got dressed casually to go to the Adoption center near his neighborhood. His outfit being a black and white striped long sleeve shirt, with some black skinny jeans, ripped at the knee, and some white converse. He looked at himself in his body length mirror and nodded. 'This looks okay' Bambam mumbled to himself.

Bambam had gotten into his car, nothing too expensive but something nice and decent. His friend called him as he started his car. His friend being Choi Youngjae. He put his phone on this stand thing, and answered his friends face time request. Youngjae's face appeared on Bambam's screen. Youngjae waved as he smiled brightly.'hi jaejae' 'hi bammie! Is today the day?' 'If you mean the day i get a pet then yes' bambam glanced at his screen before focusing on the road again. 'Ahh well, if you see a cute puppy or something text me kay? I want a pet too but I'm still debating on it' Youngjae said as he shifted on his bed. Bambam chuckled and nodded, making a turn. 'I will now i have to go, I'm almost here' Bambam said and waved. Youngjae pouted but nodded. 'Send pictures!!!!' Youngjae said. Bambam chuckled and nodded before he hung up.

Bambam made it to the adoption center and found a parking spot. He checked himself one more time before getting out the car, closing the door, locking it, and walking up to the doors. Bambam is nervous, but he hopes on finding a good companion that won't be too much of a hassle. He gently pulls open the glass door and shyly walked in, looking around with curious eyes. 'Hello~! My name is Wonho! I work here to help any type of animal to go into a forever loving home, how may i help you today?' The man said. He startled Bambam so of course bambam had wide eyes at this point. 'U-Uh hi.. my name is bambam, I'm looking for a pet I'm not sure which kind, i was hoping you'd let me see my options' Bambam asked awkwardly. 'Of course!! But may i suggest a hybrid? They are very sweet.. some and not much of a hassle! I swear you'll end up loving one of them' Wonho said. He seemed pretty convincing, so bambam shrugged. 'Okay, i want to see them' Wonho smiled and gently led bambam to a room, above the door to the room was labled "Hybrids". How bad can this be? Bambam has only heard little about hybrids, like for example, only rich people got them. So not very many people since they did cost money.

Wonho opened the door and let bambam go through first before he went through. He smiled and watched as the hybrids pressed up against the glass to see who is the new comers. 'Now, you are allowed to step into the rooms to see who you would like to take to the bonding room. The bonding room is where you can spend a couple minutes with a hybrid to get to know them and make sure you are certain about getting the hybrid' Wonho explained. Bambam nodded as he stared at the glass that stood in the way of the hybrids and himself. 'Do we go in now..?' Bambam asked. Wonho chuckled and nodded as he grabbed some keys and unlocked the door, which is at the end of the glass viewing area. Wonho went in first to calm the excited hybrids before he let bambam in. 'So to run down some of the breeds, you have cat hybrids, wolf hybrids, Fox hybrids, normal domesticated dog hybrids, and many more but we have more of the ones i listed' Wonho said. Bambam nodded and smiled as he watched some cat hybrids slowly and shyly walk up to him. They would sit at his feet and begin to rub their faces against his leg, purring softly. Bambam watched as their tails swayed, while the other hybrids played with their friends or with their toys. He then looked around before pulling his phone out. 'You don't mind if i take photos? My friend wants to adopt a pet but he would sure like a hybrid more' Bambam said. Wonho chuckled. 'Yeah sure just no flash, it scares them' Wonho warned. Bambam nodded and decided to take a couple pictures, he then spotted a small group of hybrids in a corner. It was two cat hybrids and two dog hybrids. 'Uh wonho, what are the hybrids doing in the corner? Do they not like to play?' Bambam asked. 'Oh, that group.. yeah they are more.. how do i say? They are the hybrids that are usually adopted and then returned.. uh they've been through a lot so people really don't like adopting them anymore.. but they are sweet hybrids once you get to know them! Uh the one dog hybrid with the black and white ears is kim Yugyeom, husky. One out of the two cat hybrids with the cream colored ears is Im Jaebum, Siamese. And then the second cat hybrid with black ears is Mark Tuan, bombay cat.' Wonho said. Bambam took pictures and sent them to his friends before putting his phone away. 'Can i like actually go up to them?' Bambam asked. Wonho nodded and led bambam their way, stopping a couple feet away. 'Mark, Jaebum, Yugyeom please come here' Wonho said with a kind voice. They watched as the four hybrids made their way towards them. 'Guys say hi, this is bambam, he is looking to maybe adopt a hybrid' Wonho said. Yugyeom was the first one to smile, his ears perked up with curiosity and his tail wagging. he's been through some stuff but he still is very sweet and loves people. 'H-Hi! I'm Yugyeom!' He said happily. Bambam immediately smiled. 'Hi Yugyeom~' Bambam said softly. Yugyeom kept smiling before the next hybrid decided to say hi. Jaebum was the next one who got up and let his tail sway between his legs, his ears were perked, he was curious. 'Hey...i'm Jaebum..' Jaebum said, he sounded like if he was cautious and scared at the same time. 'Hey Jaebum' bambam smiled at him anyway and bowed slightly. Mark was hesitant, very hesitant, but got up anyway, not wanting to upset Wonho who was watching. He stood in front of bambam, ears laid back, tail tucked between his legs, and a slight glare. 'I'm Mark...' he said slowly. Bambam bowed to him slightly as well and smiled. 'Hello Mark' he said. Wonho then smiled 'alright bambam, would you like to pick a hybrid to take to the bonding room?' Wonho asked. Bambam looked at him and nodded slowly as he looked around. The back of his mind kept telling him to take Mark. But he knew Mark was not very fond of him. Still, maybe Mark is just as nervous. 'Uh.. I'm not sure..' Bambam said. 'Hm.. maybe you can try one of the hybrids in front of you, Mark for example' Wonho said. Mark immediately looked up and had wide eyes. 'What.' He asked as he looked between Bambam and Wonho. Bambam gulped slightly and Wonho nodded. 'Just as a test run, come on' Wonho said softly as he gently held Mark's hand.

Wonho led Mark and Bambam to the bonding room. The walls were painted a pretty yellow, some toys were scattered around, there was a small table and two chairs, and there was light music playing. Wonho closed the door as he left the two alone. Mark immediately goes and sits in a corner, his ears never moving from their laid position. Bambam nervously sat down in one of the chairs. 'Uh.. so.. what's your favorite toy to play with?' Bambam asked. Mark looked up 'I don't play with toys. I read.' Mark said and went back to looking at his hands. 'I have a small library at home, it has lots kf books but I haven't had time to read them all' Bambam said. Mark perked up at that, his ears perking up as well. He slowly made his way to the empty chair, his tail swaying gently. 'Are they thick books? Long chapters, interesting plots?' Mark asked. You can hear how excited he sounded. 'Yes, mystery, horror, comedy, romance, you name it' Bambam said. Mark's tail swayed with even more excitement but stopped himself. 'Are you lying?' Mark asked. 'What? No' Bambam looked at Mark with confusion. Mark squinted his eyes but nodded. 'I want to see it myself' Mark said and crossed his arms. 'I would have to adopt you to take you home' Bambam said. Mark smirked and shook his head. 'Foster me, you can return me afterwards' Mark said. Bambam huffed 'that's too much work' he pouted. Mark rolled his eyes. How old are you?' Mark asked. Bambam smiled 'I'm twenty one' 'ugh. You're older' Mark said and sighed. Bambam chuckled and nodded. 'So how are we gonna do this?' Bambam asked. 'Well.. i just finished reading my current book and i cant get a new one yet, have to wait a couple weeks.' Mark shook his head in disappointment. 'Then it's settled. I'm adopting you' Bambam said and crossed his arms. He was smiling but noticed how Mark's ears laid back. 'You are? Are you sure about that?' Mark asked as he stared at bambam. 'Yes. It shouldn't be too much of a problem. It'll be fine' Bambam said and stood up. Mark watched him before slowly getting up. 'I don't mean to sound like those type of hybrids that whine but I don't really want to leave my friends behind' Mark said and frowned. Bambam chuckled 'i had a feeling you would say something like that. So i texted one of my friends to come down here when they can to see if they would like to get a hybrid. Maybe even your friends' Bambam said and shrugged. Mark kept his frown but nodded as he left the bonding room first.

Wonho watched as Mark walked over to his friends. 'What happened' Wonho asked. Bambam smiled 'i find him interesting... i would like to adopt him' Bambam said. Wonho looked at Bambam with shock written on his face. 'R-Really?! Oh good! I'll be right back with the papers!!' Wonho said happily and ran to his office.

Bambam waited as he checked the time on his watch. He felt his phone buzz as he looked at Mark, who is still talking to his friends, and pulled his phone out. Youngjae was texting him again.

Bambam put his phone away as Wonho came back. 'Okay so, sign at the dotted lines and you should be good to go' Wonho said. Bambam nodded and grabbed the pen Wonho offered him. He signed like three papers before he handed them back to Wonho. 'Alright well, i'll go tell Mark to pack his things' Wonho said and bowed before entering the room where all the hybrids were. Bambam watched and smiled.
