Meeting "The Hero"

Skylar's POV

Ok, so he kissed me then chained my hands behind my back...fun.

"I hope you know I am sorry about this. With your powers that we know of by seeing your tests at the lab we stole you from. That you can morph into different animals. So we have to put this collar on you that makes it so you can't leave, and please don't try to take it off. If you do its like a mega shock collar. So in other words I'm sorry."

I decided not to say anything as he moved my hair to the side and latched the collar onto my neck. Y'know I didn't think I was that much like an animal, but I guess I do. Who would've guessed. Apparently people think I look like an animal. Thank you I'm soooo honored. I really hope the sarcasm shows. Although I don't know why I didn't pull away from the collar. I guess I didn't think about it which is really weird for me.

"Alright lets go!" Called chase from up ahead.

I didn't say anything to Ellie for the rest of the way, but he did try to talk to me. I just pretended not to hear him. I mean who talks to animals and expects them to reply?

Anyways moving on, we made it to the base where the four boys led me inside. I was being stared at my lots of people. So when someone came over tried go grab my chin to make me look at them do blame me for biting them. Once I did that with my sharper than normal teeth the guy I happened to bite slapped me. I probably deserved it honestly, but what I heard next surprised me.

"What are you doing with this monster. This is sacred ground. Give her to the king, he might have some use for her." The guy I bit said with a slicker coating his voice.

Then Ellie stepped in front of me, "She's not the nicest but I'll have you know this is the one that hero needed us to find and secure so if you feel like kissing some dirt, be my guest slap her again. You'll kiss the grim reaper if you do cause you go for it and I'll take off her collar. Now if you don't want to die let...us...through...now."

Well that was certainly nothing that I was expecting. Especially not from Ellie. The other guy just scoffed and moved out of the way.

"Thanks." I said turning away.

"It speaks." Ellie replied in a mocking tone. "What did it say?"

"Yeah yeah. I'm not repeating myself, I hate admiting what I said to be true.

"No shit Sherlock, you love to talk about your personal life."

"Ok, well, I'm just going to let that pass considering your 'Friend' slapped me."

"Geez, touche."

Ellie's POV

I saw her barely half smile. Which stopped me from taking my eyes off her till Zack stepped up and grabbed the metal chains I was holding out of my hand and gave them to chase. After that he gave chase a quick nod, and Chase sped ahead along with Skyler and Simon.

"Dude, are you alright. You seem to be staring at Skyler. I know taking her to Hero is going to be hard for you considering she's probably going to be put in a cell until he can be absolutely certain we can trust her. But you know it's the best thing that we can do right now with the problems with the king. If you want to stay here then you won't have to see what happens."

"No. I want to be there. If she gets put in a cell it's better than what I was thinking was going to happen. Thanks Zack."

"Anytime man."

The rest of the walk was quiet. We reached the stairs that lead up to Hero and made our way up until we stood at the towering doorway. I looked over to Skyler, then down at her hand. It was shaking. Shaking. I had always seem her as this overwhelming power that nothing could ever defeat. But she was scared. Seriously scared. She doesn't know what's beyond that door. I see that now. That's one power she doesn't have. I started to reach for her arm, but was stopped as the huge doors opened. I heard a low growl come from her and didn't want to go any closer to her than I already was.

Guards showed up behind us a second later, and took Skyler from Chase then pushed her forward. I didn't want to say anything because I didn't want to make her more mad. She had stopped shaking and now was just low growling I guess is how I would describe it. I was actually quite scary. Once we got there they pushed her onto the ground so she was on her knees.

"Hey, what are you doing. Have you ever heard be gentle before?!?"I yelled walking over to them.

"We can't trust her. This is how it has always been."

"But this isn't how it has to be."

"ENOUGH."

We all turned our heads towards the throne on the far side of the room. Sitting there in the throne was the one named Hero.

He walked over to the guards and told them something that no one of us could hear. Except for Skylar with her escalated hearing. She put her head down, and looked the other way. All of the sudden we were ushered out of the room and the door was slammed in our faces. We put our ears to the door and heard a body hit the floor.
