Haneul's POV

"Yah! Where did you go this morning? We couldn't find you." They asked. "I was with Jungkook. We met on the way and he walked me to school," I replied, smiling while taking out my textbooks.

"So it was your boy huh..."

WHAT IS WRONG WITH-

"No, he's not," I replied, rolling my eyes, almost smacking them as they giggled. Nayeon sat on my left and Chaeyoung on my right, both eyeing each other weirdly.

"Good morning students. I'm your chemistry teacher, Mrs. Eun. Today, we will be starting off with the basics of oxidation and reduction. Please take out your notebooks or laptops and copy this down." Our teacher introduced herself and proceeded to write on the blackboard at the front of the class.

"Firstly, an element is oxidized when it's oxidation state increases. However, an element is reduced when it's oxidation state decreases. For example, in this equation," She spoke, pointing and placing one perfectly manicured finger on the equation.

"..Chromium's oxidation state increased, so it has been oxidized and is, therefore, the reducing agent. On the other hand, Tin's oxidation state decreased, thus it is reduced and is, therefore, the oxidizing agent." She explained it with clear articulation.

Soon after, she handed out some worksheets to be completed by the end of class. Secretly, the three of us figured that we could do a few questions each and share our answers. We finished at least 15 mins before the next period and handed them in.

"You can go since you have finished. See you again." Mrs. Eun told us, so we quickly grabbed our bags and headed to the washroom to touch up.

On the way to the washroom, I passed by Jungkook's class. Watching him leaned back in his chair, tapping his pencil on the table, he looked like he was thinking hard about how to solve his questions. Without even realizing, I smiled at this sight.

Jungkook's POV

Why is this question so hard to solve? I'm currently trying to complete this polynomial worksheet that the teacher gave but it's just so hard. I sensed someone looking at me and I turned around to look. I spotted Haneul at the window outside my class, smiling at me. I smiled back, and she mouthed "Fighting!" before walking off with Nayeon and Chaeyoung.

"Jungkook, focus on your work. Stop looking at girls." Mr. Joon said sternly, causing some classmates behind me to snicker. How embarrassing..... I quickly buried myself in the textbook, avoiding eye contact, and somehow managing to find the answer to the last question.

"Ring!"

The first period is finally over. One more period before I can see her.

Second Period:

Haneul had already left for her next class, while Jungkook was having a free period. He trudged towards the library, eyes scanning the place for any vacant seats. Unfortunately, the seats were all taken up and he had no choice but to head towards a corner to study. There was a small area in the library that not many people visited or knew of, but Jungkook often sat there alone to get away from the bustling students outside. The library was still and quiet, with the carpeted flooring muffling his steps as he made his way over to the shelf. Thud. He dropped his bag to the floor and sat down. Silently, he took out his earphones, hands running through the wires as he patiently untangled them.
