In the months and years that followed, jade and Amelia resumed their lives after the war. Jade carried on working in the airforce, and Amelia began to participate in cadets until she was old enough to follow in her dads footsteps and join the Air Force as a ground defence guard. Daniels memorial became a permanent feature in the war memorial, with Amelia being given the honour of opening it in his memory. Daniels name was also mentioned at the ANZAC day parade that year, commemorating his service and sacrifice to his country.
