Someone told me that Ade sounded a little selfish. Yeah, I agree she kind of is, but when you care about someone you'd probably be afraid of losing them wouldn't you?

2010 - Age 16

I was finally out-running Liam!

This time he wasn't being nice, but he looked like he was trying his best to catch up with me. I couldn't help but smile brightly and let the wind rush against my face. I tasted the fresh air and let the scenery quickly pass before my eyes. I looked behind me and saw the tall brunette following. He got taller from since I first met him.

I quickly got to the end of the pathway and panted as I waited for Liam. After a minute he managed to catch up. He panting harder than I was.

"Looks like I've been running a lot more than you have." I joked and watched Liam

"But I've stopped focusing on running remember?" Liam said and was still panting. He leaned down and put his hands on his knees.

"C'mon lets walk home now." I said and we started walking back home. It was quiet for a moment, and in my head I kep replaying the whole race.

"So um, Ade can I ask you something?" Liam spoke up.

I turned my head towards him. "Yeah, shoot."

"Are you okay with the way we are now?"

Well that's a weird question. Why would he ask me that.

"Yeah, you're the best of best friends you could ever be!" I smiled at him.

"So if there was anything you could change about us, you wouldn't change anything?"

"Nope, I wouldn't change a thing." I said. He looked hurt right after I said that, but I couldn't figure out the reason why.

We continued to walk in silence and allowed the birds to sing their songs as we finished the pathway. As soon as we got near our homes Liam stopped walking and looked at me with seriousness in his eyes.

"I'll see you soon." Liam said and he looked fustrated. He left to his house and I stood there, puzzled for a moment. I just shrugged it off and went over to my house.

-Next Morning-

I stood at our meeting place to wait for Liam so we could do our morning run. Usually he was first to get here, but I guess I was early. It was five minutes already, and I just sat down on a rock to wait. Something must be going on at home.

Soon, five minutes turned into fifty minutes and then it grew to two hours. Liam has never ditched me without letting me know. I finally got up and began to walk home. I was slightly disappointed, but it was his first time so it wouldn't matter. I walked inside my house and went to the kitchen to drink some water.

"Hey mom, do you know if Mrs. Payne told you what Liam was doing today?" I said after I chugged the bottle of water down.

My mom turned around from her whisking of eggs at me and gave me a surprised look. "You don't know?" I nodded my head no, and began to get confused. What's going on?

"Liam's going to audition again for the X-Factor!" she said with a cheerful tone.

Why didn't he tell me anything about it? All of a sudden he just left with out saying a word to me about it. I discarded my empty water bottle and stomped upstairs to my room.

Of course Liam would. Of course he would audition again for the X-Factor. I know he's going to the top twelve this time, since he has been practicing and focusing on singing  ever since his last audition. There goes my best friend, becoming famous and already forgetting me. It just makes me mad, that I didn't get a heads up. Yesterday he was here doing our same, usual routine and today he was just gone. He left quicker than I could blink.

Why couldn't he just told me once at least?
