It was three days after Charlies most recent beating. She was strapped tightly to some sort of metal stand with wheels on the bottom. They did this to all the prisoners because they were so dangerous, many people would attack the guards otherwise. Today was Wednesday and every Wednesday she would be transported through the prison to the psychiatrists office. Fortunately for some since Charlie killed her last psychiatrist Charlie had to meet her behind bullet proof glass. When they had finally reached the meeting room Charlie was wheeled through the door and let out. Two guards kept a tight hold of her while they walked her over to a chair and cuffed her to it. The Doctor was already on the other side of the glass smiling at her.
She was a small woman with short brown hair and non existent eye brows. Charlie had told her many times that she reminded her of her last psychiatrist (The one she'd killed). The guards left the room bolting the door behind them.
"Good afternoon Charlie! How are we?" The Doctor grinned cheerily.
Charlie was pretty sure she had never met someone as annoying as her. She rolled her eyes and used her hands to gesture to her beaten face.
"Oh I'm great! I've been singing sunshine and rainbows all week! What do you think?" Charlie scoffed.
"Oh well excuse me for having a sense of humor. Lighten up!" She laughed writing on her clipboard.
"I don't see what's so funny about someone being beaten up Doctor Nile?" Charlie raised an eyebrow. It was like this every week and each time Charlie prayed for her to be ill or something. Unfortunately this had not happened yet.
"Spoil sport." Nile pouted playfully and then started tapping her nail extensions on a tablet, "I've just been looking through your most recent drawings. Care to explain this one?"
The tablet screen was pressed up against the glass. Charlie had to lean in close to get a better look.
"It's a picture I drew of my two ghost lovers and me on the cliff Captain drove off. So what?" Charlie rolled her eyes and gave the psychiatrist a bored look.
"I was only asking what it's back story was Charlie. It's a nice picture by the way."
"Thanks. If you like it o much why don't you save it to your own device or something?" Charlie muttered. Today she really couldn't be arsed to deal with this woman.
"So how are your friends?" Nile asked sweetly.
"Feeling as crap as me..."
"Really? Why do you all always feel crap Charlie? It's all you ever say."
"Well let's think shall we? Two years ago we killed a hell of a lota people, my two lovers and their two best friends died and now we're stuck here being beaten up! Over and over! Again and again we're beaten up or harassed and what do the guards do? Nothing because this is prison. It's normal life for these people! And on top of that none of our families want to see us. That is why we all feel like crap." Charlie shouted. How hard could it be for someone to get this into their heads? Not very for everyone but Doctor Nile.
"Well I suppose that makes sense. But if you think about it Charlie you did kill your sister and other people so I can see why they would't want to see you. Why do you care about Red and Captain so much still? They died over three years ago. Shouldn't you try focus on other thing like making other friends here instead of getting beaten up all the time?" She questioned writing what Charlie had said down word for word.
"Excuse me?" Charlie whispered.
"Why do you still care Charlie? They're dead."
"What the fuck did you just say! I don't care how long they have been dead! It could be millions of years for all I care but I loved them! Do you know what that is Nile? Love? It's where you care about someone so much you wouldn't give them up for the fucking world. I don't care what happens next but I will never! Ever! Stop caring about my best friends or Captain and Red. Do you understand?" Charlie shouted louder than she had before. Rage filled her body and the only way to get it out legally was to shout.
"Yes Charlie I understand. Only I don't understand if you loved Red so much...why did you move onto Captain so quickly?" The psychiatrist had stopped walking on egg shells with Charlie a long time ago but this was too far.
"Hello! Hello! I'd like to go back to my cell now! Hey! Can you here me!" Charlie shouted at the door behind her.
"Charlie what are you doing?" Doctor Nile asked sounding bored.
"Going away from you before I decide to kill you. As much as I would love to right now I would rather not get yet another life sentence for your death." Charlie smiled sweetly and continued shouting.
Eventually Doctor Nile got up and exited her room. A few moments later the guards returned to collect Charlie. Charlie stopped shouting and sat silently in her chair as she was escorted back to her cell. Waiting for the guards to leave and the door to close she ignore Noel and ran to her bed. Cuddling her pillow she cried into it until she finally fell asleep.
