If this lesson doesn't end soon, I will be forced to jump out of the window to see if I can fly just for my own amusement. I slide down my seat, sighing.
"What's with all the sighing?" a voice suddenly said next to me.
I was startled but then turned to stare at him. "Just when I had finally forgotten you were here."
"That's something every guy likes to hear." he mocked hurt.
Adeline decided to sit next to Adam, so I was stuck with Arthur in this class. Thank goodness it was the last class of the day.
"So about my question. What's with all the sighing? Oh wait, don't say it. I know. You just can't wait to get home, eat and sleep." he said, giving me a winning smile.
I looked away and replied, "If you already know the answer, what's the point of asking the question."
"Just trying to start a conversation. You seem like you're ready to die due to boredom." he replied.
"Aw, you knew me too well," I told him, grinning back at him.
A small smile tugged at the corner of his mouth. "Well, we didn't spent the last 10 years stuck together for nothing."
"Mr. Conrad, Miss Evergreen, I would appreciate it if the two of you stop talking and pay attention in this class or else you'll be spending an hour in detention class after school." the teacher's voice boomed all the way to the back of the class.
"We would've pay attention if you stop talking about your life and actually teach us." Arthur mumbled under his breath.
I snickered. "I couldn't agree more."
School has finally ended.
"Jay is coming to pick you up right?" Arthur asked.
I nodded. "Yeah."
He grinned, patting my head. "Well, see you later."
"Yeah."
But he was still standing in front of me, grinning like a kid. "Aren't you going to say something nice or some word of encouragement before I go to practice?"
I rolled my eyes, and said, "Since when do you need that from me? You don't need any word of encouragement. I know you will do just fine. Better even. Plus, it's only practice."
His grey eyes enlarged. "Did you actually say something nice to me? And 'I know you will do just fine'? was that a compliment?" he joked.
"Want me to take it back?" I said, giving him a glare.
He chuckled back. "No, I'm fine."
"Well then, I'm off. Bye Skye." he said, smiling as he held my left plait softly and kiss the top of my head quickly but still took me by surprise.
I was still standing there, frozen like a statue. I was brought back by his laughter.
"Arthur!" I literally screamed at him but he was already running down the hallway, while waving something silvery in his hand. It was my freaking hairband. "You idiot!"
"See you!" he yelled back.
I stomped my feet and undo my other braid. I tied my hair in a ponytail while cursing Arthur under my breath.
I was heading out when Adeline called out to me. She has just done saying good bye to Adam and by that I mean, making out.
"So, Jay and I are going to to town after this. You want to come?" I asked her.
"I would love too but my mum is busy the whole day today, so I have to pick up my twin brothers from their school." she sighed.
I patted her shoulder. "Good luck."
