"Evening Grandparents!" I called as I walked into the house.
"Evening Olivianna," Grandma Josephine called.
"Is Charlie with you?" Grandpa George asked.
"No?" I asked confused. "He's not home yet? He was supposed to come home right after school with dinner that momma gave him some money for." I said, my brow furrowing in confusion.
"Well, it seems he must have gotten distracted" Grandpa Joe said fondly.
I let out a small laugh before bending down to relace my boots.
"I guess I should go find him and Bring him home before Momma gets back." I said.
"Be careful darling!" Grandma Georgina called.
"I will. Be right back. I called, closing the door tightly.
'Where could that boy be at this hour?' I thought as I trudged through town.
My eyes focused on the new candy shop with a familiar boy talking to the owner.
I slowly opened the door and listened to my brother speaking about Willy Wonka with such a passion.
"I'd give anything to see inside that factory," He sighed wistfully.
"Say that again?" The shopkeeper asked, immediately pausing what he was cleaning.
"He'd give anything to see inside that factory, who wouldn't," I said, opening the door fully. The bell announcing my presence.
"Who indeed," The man said thoughtfully.
"Charlie Bucket," I said with my arms crossed.
"Uh oh." I heard him mutter.
"I'm sorry if he's been bothering you sir," I apologise. "He was supposed to get dinner then come right home." I chastised.
The man sent me a dazzling smile causing me to blush.
"Not at all Miss. He's been telling me about Willy Wonka,"
"The amazing chocolatier," I smiled at my brother.
"You share the same fascination?" He asked.
"Of course. I'm the big sister, where do you think he gets it from?" I asked laughing, shoving my baby brother playfully.
The man got a contemplating look on his face.
"Oh well sir, i'd love to stay and talk but I really have to go and buy dinner for my mom. I'm starving." Charlie said, taking my hand.
"Wait! Wrapper sniffer, what did you say your name was?" The man called.
I shot Charlie a confused look and he blushed and gave my a shy smile.
""Bucket sir, Charlie Bucket. This is my sister Olivianna,"
"Well why don't you buy a Wonka Bar, Buckets, if you like them so much" The man asked.
I looked down sadly at Charlie's crestfallen face.
"We can't afford Chocolate sir," I responded.
"I only get one bar a year. On my birthday. Always Wonka!" Charlie responded Gleefully.
"Well, come back on your birthday, I'll sell ya one," The man responded and closed the door to the shop.
"Thank you sir I will!" Charlie called gleefully.
I rolled my eyes ruffled Charlie's hair.
"Don't worry too much sport, One day i'll be able to get you all the chocolate you want." I promised.
'I know you will Livi," He smiled, hugging my around my middle.
I hugged him back tightly, kissing the top of his head.
"Vegetables! Second hand vegetables! Get your Vintage vegetables here!" Mrs. Green called.
"Half a cabbage please Mrs.Green." Charlie asked politely handing her the money.
"That'll be seven cents Bucket," She said.
"S-seven? Its normally five Mrs.Green" I stuttered.
"Price went up Olivianna. Guess you'll just have to work later," She said with a disapproving look.
I looked down at my feet a blush crossing my feature.
"It's not like I wanna be a Walking Jane," I muttered.
"You can have a rotten one for five," She told Charlie.
"Ok...Yuck!" Charlie exclaimed pulling snail from the cabbage.
"You get the snail for free,"
"Thank you Mrs.Green." We both said.
"Oh and Bucket, tell your mother to send you with more money next week," She said.
"I will," Charlie said .
The woman shot me another look before returning to pedal her vegetables.
"Are you ok Livi, I don't know why Mrs.Green gives you such a hard time," He sighed.
"I'm fine Bucko, let's just hurry up and get home before mom has both our heads." I said shrugging the subject off.
"The candyman," Charlie sighed looking back at the factory.
"The candyman can cause he mixes it with love an makes the world taste good," I smiled.
"And the world tastes good cuz the candy man thinks it should," We both grinned, my eyes falling back onto the Chocolate shop, the mysterious Store clerk, watching us from the window.
