I made my way back to Charlie who had a knowing grin on his face.

"Did ya kiss him!" He asked.

"Shut up," I muttered nudging him.

"Chocolate! Get ya chocolate here! Only one dollar!" Mrs.Greene called.

"Hey Livi, I found a dollar. Can I get a chocolate bar?"

"Um as long as you give me a square!" I teased.

"Duh," He mocked smiling .

"One bar of chocolate please Mrs. Greene," Charlie asked.

"Did ya come into your inheritance Rockefeller," she teased.

"Something like that...One Wonka Whipple scrumptious Fudgemallow delight!" He said politely, handing her the dollar.

"Don't eat it all at once," She warned.

"I should take it home and share it," Charlie said honestly.

"Chocolate! Chocolate! Rots your teeth and makes ya fat! Get ya Wonka Chocolate here!" Mrs. Greene exclaimed as she walked away, making me giggle slightly.

I sat down beside him when he moved to sit on the curb. Examining the bar in his hands.

"Ya know Charlie. I have a good feeling about this. I've had something extraordinary happen today...Maybe it's your turn." I whispered, slinging an arm over his shoulders.

He peeled the label back and looked up at me with wide eyes. I glanced down and my heart skipped a beat.

"I never thought this day would be, Anything but catastrophe! But suddenly I begin to see A bit of good luck for me...'Cus I've got a golden ticket...I've got a golden twinkle in my eye" Charlie whispered.

I gripped his hand tightly and we raced home the door banging open in our excitement.

"Grandpa Joe. How D'ya know? That I'd be coming home today With something good, something gold, Something special, that I can hold. Grandpa Joe, Just as you planned The final golden ticket in my hand!" Charlie exclaimed, brandishing the ticket to our family.

"Grandpa Joe!" I exclaimed, excitedly.

"Joe! Are you alright?" Mom asked

"He's white as a sheet!" Grandma Josephine laughed.

"He can't speak!" Mom laughed.

"Grandpa Joe! Say something!" Charlie begged as we went over to the bedside.

"Charlie, you and I We made something out of nothing. You and me, Livi We saw things that weren't there's... Charlie, you and I Wondered how but never why Yes, me and you, Livi
Charlie, you and I." Grandpa boasted.

"Wait a minute, Joe. This ticket says, to go on the tour, Charlie has to be accompanied by a responsible adult." Mom said, reading the print on the ticket.

"So?" Grandpa Joe asked confused.

"Well, I can't go with him. If I don't turn up for work, Mrs Walinsky is sure to fire me, and I can't afford to lose my job." Mom said sadly.

"So have Livi take him!" Joe said firmly.

"She's only 23,"

"She's the best we've got! She knows as much about that factory as I do,"

"I do momma! Let me take Charlie. I can do this!" I promised.

She sighed and looked between us, Charlie and I wide eyes and excited.

"Alright, alright. But go get as cleaned up and ill find something suitable for you to wear tonight." Mom said giving in.

Charlie turned and tackled me in a hug.

"All of our dreams are coming true Liv!"

Now we just had to hope that the factory would be everything that we ever dreamed of...Including the man that ran it.
