My palms get sweaty the closer I get to the front door of my home, a place that I haven't stepped foot in; in two weeks exactly. Endless worries run through my mind from what my husband will think or even how he'll react as well as my children. I ignored his calls as well as Yesenia's, not because I wanted to but because I had to. I just had to clear my mind and take each day as it came to me, I spent time away in a cabin up in the hills but was of course under the supervision of my good friend Hayden and his wife; Cameron who took me to get the test rests after my procedure. My child is fine but I'm still a bit worried that I could be carrying Jensen's kid considering that the assults had overlayed with the intamite moments I shared with my husband..
I talked to Cameron about it and even got on the topic of not wanting the child if it came to it since I was too far along to get an abortion and after all I've been through.. I knew that if I got another one the chances of me even having a child would be slimmer than they are now. I decided to just go with the flow until my child arrives and once he or she does, that's when I'll make my decision but until then. It is my responsibility to make sure that while I'm pregnant I stay healthy, mentally as well as physically. While away I had to cut my diet which was so torturing to do since I basically couldn't eat too much sweets but I guess that's what it's like when you're a mother, you make sacrifices for your child. You put them first and not yourself. I will admit that when I just up and left, I was thinking of myself I was being selfish. I let my own fears get in the way of what my purpose was for my child which was to make sure that they enter this world healthy and that I love them regardless.
I reach into the pocket on the side of my purse and remove my keys to unlock the door. Once I do, I enter and close it behind me then look around the lit up house, toys and shoes are all over the floor. The smell of delicious food fills my nostrils instantly making my stomach growl. I take a few steps and stop right before I get to the foyer, seeing a stack of boxes next to the table where my husband would normally put his keys once arriving, the sound of commotion and laugher catch my attention, making me take a few more steps until I'm at the entrance of living room in our home that was even more messy. I smile looking at my kids crowd around the table, eating some food and playing Jenga. "Don't move it too fast or we'll lose." Paz tells Yesenia who had her focus on the block she was trying to remove. I place my purse down on the floor then step down the few steps. I catch Osvaldo look over at me and smile, he stands up and hits Yesenia on the arm causing her to knock down all the blocks. "You fuck- mom!?" She looks at me then at her siblings. "Mimi!" Lur gets off the floor and runs over to me, colliding right into my legs. The others follow and I'm now being attacked with tight hugs that honestly warmed my heart. I've missed my kids so much and by the way they're squeezing the heck out of me I know that they missed me too. "Where you been, Ma?" Os asks, hugging me one last time before letting me go.
"Yeah, mama. Where have you been?" Paz places her hand on her hip and stares at me. "Where is your dad?" I ask disregarding their questions. "Daddy is in his office right now. He's been up there since he got us from school." Yesenia tells me. I nod and push my hair behind my ears. "Okay well ima go talk to him, clean all this up though. You know he would have a fit if he saw how it looked down here." I reply as I turn around and walk over to the staircase. I take my time walking up them, it's been a while since I even came face to face with a flight of stairs so it was much of a challenge but I finally make it to the second floor of our home and walk down the hallway to my husband's office. I knock first then enter, "Are you guys finished with dinner?" He mumbles, flipping through some paperwork. "No, they're cleaning up right now." Dropping the pen in his right hand. He lifts his head and looks at me. I smile and take a step forward but stop at his poor reaction, he didn't react to seeing me like our children did. In fact, he just cleared his throat, fixed his glasses then went back to looking over the paperwork in front of him. "Hey, Firefly." I say with a bit of nervousness. I could tell that he probably wanted to speak his mind about how I just up and left but for some reason didn't.
