As I neared the town I found the townsfolk waiting at the entrance. 'how quaint they came to welcome me ' I thought. Sadly I was mistaken, the people had "weapons" or rather pitch forks and hoes (not the person- it's also a gardening implement) and looked rather angry.

Coming closer to them I slowed down and dismounted, not wanting them to hurt Maculis. After I came about a foot closer to the townsfolk, one got it into his head that I was going to kill them. Well not yet anyway. The man ran towards the village behind him and tripped and fell on his face.

Trying not to laugh I bowed respectfully to the townsfolk and got a few steps closer to one of the others before she tried to skewer me with the pitch fork she held. " You monster! Stay away from me!" She screamed. Her face held nothing but anger and hate as she looked at me. "I am no monster Miss" I simply replied. "My mother and I have just moved into the mansion upon the hill, I came to buy some food for us." One of the males came forward as I was talking to the girl, seeing him as no threat I paid him no mind -that was until he tried to grab my arm.
