Chapter Ten | Six Months After

They say the first year of any marriage is hard. Imagine if your first year of marriage included state visits, public engagements and constant news headlines asking if you were pregnant yet.

By the time of their first wedding anniversary, the couple had toured America, all of England, Denmark and Norway. They had entertained heads of state and dignitaries at state dinners.

They had opened countless parks, schools and hospitals and planted trees. Robyn christened her first ship and sat front row at schools across England, listening to schoolchildren sing for her.

On top of her official royal duties, Harry and Robyn also continued on with The Foundation works in several African countries and opened a new school in Colombia. They kept themselves busy, immersing themselves in their new roles, but that wasn't enough to satisfy a population waiting for an announcement of a new royal baby.

"Once they had passed their six months mark of being married, we began to closely watch Robyn. If she didn't have a glass of wine at a dinner party or if she wore something loose, we would ask ourselves if she was pregnant. It wasn't until that fall, when we realized that perhaps they were in no rush. The whole thing was very annoying. Queen Elizabeth had given birth less than a year after her wedding. We were sort of expecting Princess Robyn to do the same," the editor of a England paper tells us. " For awhile it was hurry and wait."

If they noticed the growing anticipation of a royal birth in the papers, the royal couple kept it to themselves. Princess Robyn later clarified why they waited.

"I was surprised at the level of anticipation. I mean, I knew people were expecting it, I just didn't imagine that I would come back from our honeymoon and already the papers would be asking if I was pregnant. I had told Harry when he proposed, I asked him to give me at least one full year from our wedding before we would start trying for children. I needed that time and space to be able to find myself in this new role. I couldn't imagine trying to take on two new roles as big as those at the same time."

Sources tell us that Robyn kept her word and in June of 2018, the couple ceased using any methods of birth control.

~×~

I walk over to the door but before I can open it something catches my eye. Sitting on the table is a cup of probably cold coffee and a newspaper. I grab the paper.

I focus again on the headline, the thing that caught my attention in the first place. It's in a different language and the curly writing is making it hard for me to read it. I look at the picture and I feel my nerves go on edge as I really notice it. It's me! And Harry! Outside, by the fountain, yesterday, at three in the morning!

I look back at the title of the article and squint at it. I suddenly make the connection. My eyes widen as I look down at the picture again. I let out a high pitch scream and out of the corner of my eyes I see Harry jump up and look at me. I feel him next to me in two seconds and he's looking at the paper with the same intensity I am.

"What the hell is this!" I scream.

Is The HRH Robyn Really Pregnant

That's what it reads.

I look down at the picture of me standing and Harry sitting on the fountain. It was when we were kissing. His lips are pressed on mine but unlike what was actually happening, the image makes it look like it's gentle. His hands are what makes this rumor look real. There on my stomach! My stomach. What the heck! I'll give the photographer credit tough because even I would believe this picture. It looks like Harry is caressing my belly, like there really is something there. Then there's another picture of me from an engagement I was doing with Kate.

"Umm..." He says as he scans the article. "Well, I can assure you that everyone has read this... and everyone thinks you're pregnant, that we're pregnant..."

I grown and stomp my foot on the floor like a five year old. "No, no, no, no, no!" I look at him. "Shit." I say before mumbling a 'sorry'. "What does the article even say."

"Uh." He clears his throat and looks down at the words again. "This photo clearly confirms that our new princess is with child. The way our prince is showing his love to both his wife and child is lovely and one can tell he will be a great father... Blah blah blah... We're excited to meet the newest royal baby... there's a little more but that's pretty much it."

"Oh God." I groan again and plop onto the couch.

"Hey this is an easy fix, don't worry."

"Yeah?" He sits next to me, setting down the paper.

"Absolutely, we'll have this cleared up in no time."

"Okay," I smile up at him and rest my head against his chest. "Okay so, we change, have lunch, and fix problem."

"Sounds like a plan."

I nod and slip through the door, ready to face the day.

Kate walked into our assistants office and smiled when she saw me.

"Awe, please tell me it's true." Kate said.

"What?" I asked.

"That you're pregnant." Kate said.

"Kate, I thought you didn't believe in things written by the press." I said.

"Rih, you look pregnant. I understand we as women go through times in our lives where we just gain weight and can't control but as your sister in law I would advise you to schedule an appointment with the royal doctor." Kate said.

"Fine, but I'm going just to prove you wrong." I said.
