Chapter 6

Dr. Kuznetsov chuckled and clapped walking up to the five teens, filled with amusement. None of them understood what was going on. Was this a test? Were they actually in some type of dream? They didn't know and weren't ready not to find out. As he came closer they got ready to fight someone, mostly out of fear that they would need to fight their way to freedom. Mikayla, Leo, Tristan, and Xia all grabbed whatever was closest to them (low and behold it was silver wear), while Gage just brought out his Disc Glaive.

"Please, relax", Dr. Kuznetsov explained, "I'm quite impressed with your skills of getting all the way down here."

"Let me guess", Gage remarked angrily pointing the disc at the doctor, "this some type of test you put us through?"

"No!" Dr. Kuznetsov laughed, "I saw that you all left the room, so I had guards search the area to find you all. This wasn't any test and I was truly worried, but it seemed that a few of you have awakened something within you."

"Ooooh", The teens said lowering their utensils and weapon.

"Well that makes a little more sense on why no one caught us sooner than we expected", Xia explained, "So you knew this was going to happen to us, I mean the whole weapon stuff."







"Not exactly", Dr. Kuznetsov replied, "but I had pretty good idea on how the drug was affecting your bodies. I wanted to test the theory, that seemed to have worked... this does lead to new complications, though."

They all looked at each other then back out the doctor, who was clearly hiding something at this point. Gage stepped forward towards the doctor. "Wait, what "complications"?"

"Other countries: they knew we were testing an experimental drug, possibly a cure, on people, but what they don't know is that we found out the cure does more than what anyone expected", the doctor said waving his hand at all of them, "you are the first product of any counter measure to the Infection."

They all just looked at each other in complete utter silence. No one wanted this, they just wanted to be cured of their... disease. Knowing now that they were... they were weapons? The anger that built up in Mikayla was new to her, but none of the less she was pissed. She rushed up towards to Dr. Kuznetsov and pinned to a bread rack which made a huge clank. That's when things got chaotic: the guards raised their guns yelling in Russian, Gage took out his disc glaive and pointed it at the guards also yelling, Leo and Tristan tried pulling Mikayla off the doctor, but she wasn't budging, Xia final had the last straw and started to yell.

"SHUT UP EVERYONE!!!!" Xia yelled to which everyone turned their attention to her. Mikayla was still pinning at the doctor to the wall and Xia turned towards her direction. "Mikayla. Get. Off. Of. Him. NOW!"

Mikayla shook her head a few times back and forth then looked around at the scene and then at Dr. Kuznetsov. SHe didn't understand what happened, let alone why she did what she did. She backed away with fear in her eyes. "I-I'm s-so sorry.... I-I.... Where that anger came from... I don't know... I'm so sorry."

"It is fine friend", Dr. Kuznetsov said gently brushing himself off, "I can understand how the news can be rather... surprising, but that wasn't my reason for stated what I stated. If other countries find out, which they will possibly find out sooner than later, they will kill as and take you five as test subjects."

The kids looked at each other and then at the doctor. A wave of fear and tension washed over them. this couldn't have gone any... any worse? Any weirder? Any what? What was their next move, if there was another move to take. What they knew is that with the more answers they got the more questions and fears were raised.

"I think the best thing to do right now is to go to bed and pick up where we left off tomorrow", Gage explained looking around at everyone. "Is that a good idea or not?"

Eventually everyone nodded and went their separate ways. Gage looked around for a moment and sighed. This may have been all new to him, but this wasn't what he expected to happen. He was a weapon now? This isn't all what he wanted, but if this kept him from dying....

"Gage, come on let's go sleep." It was Xia and luckily she calmed down from the whole incident. "Whatever reservation you have right now we'll get answered tomorrow, okay?"

"Yeah... sounds like a plan." Gage responded walking towards Xia, "hopefully tomorrow brings better results than what happened tonight."

Xia looked down at the floor, tracing where her feet stepped. "Yeah.... Hopefully." The two teens walked towards the others and made their way to bed. The night brought more questions than answers, but also brought about something different in Mikayla, Xia was sure of it and her intuition scared her more than what was fact and her intuition said that Mikayla was changing, but this change was not for the better....
