'Just me and soon to be the darkness now. I better turn my cell on silent.' I thought as I stood there, looking into the unknown. I reached into my pocket to turn my cell on silent while noticing that it was already five in the evening. I put the cell back in my hoodie pocket. I pulled out my black gloves and put those on. I felt my heart finally slowing down after that little jog I did. I looked across the street. There are about two acres of trees that were cut down on both sides and just this wide driveway. Mosquitoes were starting to fly around me. 'Damn, I forgot to put bug repellent on.' I thought to myself.

I crossed the street after looking both ways and worked my way to the edge of the lot so no one can see me in the brush. I softly walked my way towards the driveway. The humidity in the air is making me sweat a little but everything that was once possibly crunchy under my shoes is now soft. The cicadas are making their noise in the trees. A soft breeze blows through my hair and cools me down a little. It felt like it was about eighty-five degrees with eighty percent humidity and the blood-sucking bugs were loving it.

Before I knew it; I was there, at the very edge of the gravel driveway. There was still some light since no tree branch can grow out long enough to cover it up. I still had a chance to back out. I stood there, in the middle of it. Pine trees, reaching towards the sky. I admire them from down below. They aren't like pine trees that you see in the North. These ones are only half covered in branches. I snap out of my short daydream and planned to take care of the mission at hand.

I softly walked my way up the driveway and it felt like it was getting darker and darker. I looked to my left then my right. The forest was already engulfed in the darkness from the cloudy day and the trees. Even when they were half covered in branches, it's the mid to upper level of the tree that's covered in them. So many trees grew so close to each other. 'Gee, maybe I should tuck myself into the forest a little bit.' I thought and so I did. I followed my advice. The wind was picking up again but the mosquitoes were still hanging around. The further up I went, I noticed the sweet smell of Magnolia. I heard thunder in the distance as I was walking. It was an eerie feeling but I didn't want to be spotted by him. The light was going dim and just in time to.

I saw a beautiful really old plantation house. It looked to be brick, about 1850's style home and it had three stories. 'That's interesting, I have to look this house up.' I thought to myself. I walk towards a tree to hide behind. I creep up the driveway and hid by the stairs that were located on my left. I quietly tip toe my way up the eight steps to peek inside the window that was by the front door and notice there were candles lit all around. The place looked empty, not a living soul in sight. 'Maybe all the living souls are dead.' I gulped at the thought. Then I saw a shadow figure, coming closer and closer and closer. I couldn't move. I couldn't hide. I felt like a deer caught in headlights. The door opens and I'm thinking about the evil man with the eyes and the fire and the fangs and me not being able to move. Moments later I feel like I'm going to faint and so I did but not before feeling someone catch me.

*The Grandfather Clock strikes midnight, she's in a house alone with what could be a vampire*

'Mmmm what happened? I'm so cozy. Am I in bed? I have to be.' I thought. I took a couple of blinks to gain focus on my surroundings. I turn my body towards the flickering light, 'when did I get a fireplace that works?' I thought. I began to realize that I wasn't inside my house. I look at the corner of my eye and noticed the mystique figure, looking into the fire. I guess he felt my gaze because then he turned and faced me. He had that grin again that he had at the cafe.

I get up from the couch as quickly as possible and try to exit from the front door. 'Damn, it's locked.' I thought and I ran to try the other door. That to, was locked and I was scared. I ran to find another exit. I found my way into a dark hallway. I didn't know which way to go. I couldn't see. I stretched out my arms and hands to help guide me. It didn't help, I found myself in a corner. I placed my forehead against the wall 'I'm so screwed right now. I'm terrified.' I thought. Then I felt the presence of him being behind me. I quickly turned around but I couldn't see him. 'Is this my mind playing tricks on me?' I thought as I stood there confused. 'I am in the dark. Maybe he's around me, watching me being scared. I have turned myself into his prey.' I thought and then I said out loud "I'm not really scared of you! I just hate not being able to see."
