Betsy is exhausted but somehow finds the strength to push again. "It's a girl, she's beautiful, Betsy." The doctor says as he clamps off the umbilical cord and then hands the baby over to the nurse that is helping him deliver the babies.

Pain strikes Betsy again and she lets out the scream. She's so damn tired. "Hold on, Betsy, I'm here." Reese's voice comes to her and gives her new strength. Tears fall down her face. She hasn't heard his voice in nine months.

Pain rips through her once more and she doesn't fight the urge to push. She just wants the pain to end.

"You can do it, Betsy. Our daughter is beautiful, so beautiful just like her mother."

"Reese you always were full of shit," Betsy says as she pants to catch her breath after that last push.

"Alright, Betsy, I can see the head. Give me a big strong push when the next contraction hits." The doctor pretends that he didn't hear her talking to her late husband, but it does make him smile. Betsy hadn't been doing well and he was afraid that the children wouldn't be enough to keep her with them once they came.

Now if she can hear Reese again she might fight a little harder to stay alive.

The contraction hits and Betsy pushes. She feels the shoulders come out and suddenly she can breath again. She takes her first deep breath in months and lays there exhausted.

"It's a boy and he appears to be perfectly healthy." The doctor finishes doing his job and cleans up the after birth. The nurse hands him the babies and he wakes Betsy up so that she can hold and feed them.

"The girl looks just like you, Betsy." Jerry says in awe as he watches the little ones greedily feed.

"The boy looks just like his father," the doctor says hesitantly. He hopes his words didn't upset her.

"Yes, he does doesn't he?" Betsy says in awe herself. She never thought to become a mother. Now here she is holding the only children she will ever have. The last gift her husband ever gave her, and the best.

"They're beautiful, love. What are you going to name them?" Reese asks her.

"The girl will be Rosemarie and the boy will be Reese," Betsy says softly.

"Rosemarie and Reese? You're naming our son after me?" Reese asks in a voice indicating his pleasure at her words.

"Of course, why wouldn't I name him after you?" Betsy keeps her words soft, but she knows that he heard her.

"Thank you, I love you so much." Betsy swears that she felt the press of Reese's lips on her forehead.

When the babies are through eating the doctor and Jerry each take one and place them in their bed.

Betsy had remained with Jerry and he'd added onto his house a couple of bedrooms for her and the babies.

Betsy had become a teacher helping at the school to teach the young. So far Command is doing a good job setting up the new government and Betsy is content to leave them be.

And so far they've been content to leave her be as well. They have no idea where she is or what she's doing and as long as she leaves them alone they'll leave her alone.

But Betsy is keeping track of them. You never know when you will need to know where certain people are at.

The years go by and Betsy finds that although she's not a perfect mother that she's not half bad at it.

Her children are more than half Other, but with the new government they aren't bothered or harassed. Which is a good thing because Betsy is very protective of her children.
