Aria woke up the next morning with puffy eyes and tear stains going down her cheeks. She looked at her bedside table, checking the time. It was 8:30 A.M.. She sighed. Her head was pounding from last night, and she was still physically and mentally weak from her break down. Aria layed in bed thinking of ways to avoid Kevin, not that it was too difficult, seeing that he was always ditching her. She thought of the past when he had always clung to her and stood up for her. He kept the nightmares and the bullies away, and she would distract him from the crazy, superficial world around him. She was hurt because he chose her bully over her. She never thought he would break a promise, especially one that was so important to her. She looked at her phone seeing a text from Kevin.

Kev:

Hey! Are you okay? Where are you? Are you still coming?

Seeing that it was already 9:30 A.M., Aria decided that she would not meet Kevin at the park that morning. She wasn't ready to face the boy who broke her heart.

Kevin woke up at 7:00 A.M., even though it was a Saturday. The night before had been dull and boring. Zoe had forced him to go to a party with her. Usually, Kevin wasn't one for giant high school parties with drunk teenagers, loud music, and hot, stuffy houses. Right when they arrived, Zoe had run off and Kevin found himself alone. Most of the time he was outside just waiting for his oh-so-lovely girlfriend. He regretted bailing on Aria. He regretted not breaking up with Zoe. He regretted hurting the girl who meant to much to him.

Two hours later, Kevin finally got out of bed and dressed up, preparing himself for what was to come. After he got ready, he walked to the park where him and Aria often met. When he got there, he sat under the tree where he used to often see Aria writing or drawing. He looked around at his surroundings, studying them, learning why Aria fell in love with the old, rusty park.

Kevin didn't like hurting Aria. He hated it, but parts of him couldn't help but do it. He could simply break up with Zoe and ask Aria to be his girlfriend. That'd be the best way to go. It'd be easier protect Aria, but at the same time, she'd probably get more hate.

After half an hour, Kevin texted Aria and asked if everything was all right and if she was still coming. Unlike before, he couldn't tell what she would do next. Being away from her for so long made it impossible to get a read on her, not like that he was able to before.

Another half hour passed and no response was given. Kevin took that as a sign to leave the park. She wasn't coming. She was hurt. She didn't want to see him, the boy who once again broke her heart to pieces. He was aware that he once again hurt her. So much for trying to be a protector when all he did was hurt her. All he wanted to do was scoop her into his arms and cuddle with her and dance with her and make her feel beautiful once again, but sadly he ruined his chances.

As he walked home, he realized that the least he could do for her was take her out. Kevin wanted to give her space, but he couldn't. He couldn't go on, knowing that he broke Aria's heart once again. Unfortunately he didn't know what to do. He wasn't sure if she'd even accept his apology or even let him take her out. Right when he got into his house, he had an idea.

Aria finally got out of bed around 10 A.M., an hour after she was supposed to meet him. As she got ready for the day, she began to ponder about what she just did. She knew he just wanted to make up missing their movie night, but she didn't let him. He was probably pissed at her because she didn't even text him that she wasn't going to meet him.

The girl sighed and put on some jeans and an old t-shirt from a band she didn't even like anymore and a pullover that was slightly baggy on her. She slipped on her Vans and grabbed her adventure backpack and went downstairs to eat. Her grandparents were already gone, doing whatever they had planned for the day. There was some scrammbled eggs and toast on the table, but she barely ate because her stomach wouldn't let her.

By the time she was done, it was already 11 A.M., signalling half the day was already wasted away due to her wallowing in self-pity. Right when she opened the door to the last person she thought she would see today.

It was Jaesop, aka AJ, the second boy to break her heart. He was in mid-knock and surprised that she even opened the door. Suddenly Aria's face went blank. That's when he started to apologize. "I'm so sorry I fucked up. I was just scared about my own popularity. I was selfish. I was an asshole. I'm so so sorry. Please, will you forgive me? I brought you cookies becuase I know how much you hate flowers and I really want to take you out today. I just want to explain myself. Please, forgive me?"

And in that moment, everything was silent and for once, it wasn't because she didn't want to speak.
