Nick Burkhardt's Point of View:

After I spent a while scanning the pristine house, I made my way to the second floor : only to be confronted with someone. Anabelle, the new detective, was already there ; staring at the family photos that lined the walls. Why does she look so...detached?  Cautiously, I walked over to her.

"Hey, Ana?" I said, waving my hand in front of her face. Quickly, she turned around and landed a punch in my stomach. Wheezing, I went to my knees.

"Oh god! I'm so sorry- I swear I didn't mean too- oh god this is terrible," She apologized, mumbling the end.  Note to self: never wake Anabelle from a daydream...I carefully stood up, very cautious of her.

"I am so sorry, it was just a reaction I swear!" She continued, making her way over to me.

"It's fine," I chuckled, smiling slightly at her.  "So, what have you found?" I asked, trying to change the subject.

"Uhm...Nothing much," She replied, guilt still etched across her features.

My thoughts were then interrupted by the girl in front of me again, "I have't investigated any of the bedrooms yet though," She stated, slightly more confident this time. I nodded as we walked towards the main bedroom, freezing when we heard something crash. Turning to each other, we nodded in agreement.

We needed to be on our A-game.

I'm sorry for the lack of updates, school and stress had taken over my life. However, school has broken up so now I can focus on writing more.
