(Angelica's POV)
"So, do you ship it?" Laurens asked, turning in my direction nervously as he sat down. Eliza and Alexander were too busy giggling to hear anything we said in the back, especially when combined with the bumping of the carriage.
"Pardon me?" I ask, confused as to his language. An incident of verbal autocorrect?
"Do you ship Hamliza?" he asks again. "Do you think they are cute together, as a couple?" he rephrases, whispering into my ear now.
I giggle a bit. "I'm afraid that's not my place to say." It's honestly rather cute. Eliza's always been a bit quiet if holding to herself in times of trouble. I always thought she would make a good mother. Alexander is rougher and bolder but can lack stability. Still, I feel like he was more my match. Anyway, " Where'd you even come up with that sort of language?" I ask.
"Places," he shrugged. "I like them together. Women-wise, it's the best he could've gone."
I catch myself before I say anything odd. It's the 1700s! Anything else would be odd-- which is just wrong. I stop myself from wondering if Lauren's had any interest in Alexander. "For a man of such poor familinage, he's done well."
"Is familinage a word?" John Laurens asks.
I give him a cold hard look right as the carriage stops. "It is now!" He bursts out laughing as he steps outside the carriage.
