When we got back I jumped out of his grasp and ran inside. Why was my heart beating so fast? I wasn't scared and I wasn't that pissed. I dismissed this thought as Casen came through the door and dropped our supplies on the table.
"I got these," I said as I reached for a can of food. Just then he grabbed the can and said "Go rest Yoona, you never do. I got these," he winked at me then turned to the cupboards. Ah! Why is my face getting hot? Oh god this is getting frustrating. "You're blushing again by the way," he said without even turning around.
"I AM NOT," I yelled in reply. He just smirked and finished putting the supplies back. I started making a fire and he brought over a can of... well whatever it was and I heated it in the fire. He grabbed a spoonful and brought it up to my lips.
"Yaya, eat so you can get your strength back," he said with an innocent smile,
"I can feed myself! And stop calling me Yaya!" He laughed and nodded his head.
"What's the plan for tomorrow?" I asked,
"Hmm well I thought we could have some fun," he said with the same warm smile.
"Like what? Shouldn't we like find a better place? You know maybe one that's actually stable?"
"What do you mean? It's stable," he said as he leaned on a beam making it to fall and almost causing the ceiling to fall in.
"Exactly! See? What happens if a hoard comes? They'll knock down the house and we'll be dead,"
"Where would we find any better home than this one? We can't go in town because they're everywhere, we can't go on a building because we'd have to clear it and there's only the two of us and they could come up top and then where would we go?"
"I didn't mean in town I just meant somewhere that we don't have to worry about the ceiling caving in or the walls falling down,"
"But this spot is perfect! We have a town not very far from us at all which meant supplies, there's a river pretty close which means water, and it's secluded,"
"Well I'm gonna start looking tomorrow and-"
"Awwww c'mon! Can't we just have one day of fun?" he looked at me with the biggest, most sparkly, brown puppy eyes ever. I sighed and looked up at him towering over me.
"I wish I could, but in this world no matter what I do or where I go There's always a fear, an anxiety that I have to live by to stay alive. Without it you and I would both be dead and you know that."
He gave me a warm, comforting smile and rubbed my head.
"Hahaha you're adorable when you talk all tough."
"Hey! Stop it!" I grabbed his hand and threw it back at him, but he held his smile and just looked at me.
"What? What're you looking at?" he chuckled then turned and plopped on the couch. I rolled my eyes and layed on my "bed" on the floor. It was the best I had. And it was better than a couch that's constantly stabbing you in your sleep.
Before I fell asleep I looked at him and realised that he wasn't going to sleep. Oh well his loss.
