annalyse,
"hey" someone sat next to me.I think his name was nate or something like that
"oh hey" I said
"how was your first day?" he asked
"alright" I shrugged
"I didn't know jack had a sister" he said
"well I didn't know I had a brother until last year when I came to see my dad" I said
"how does that work?" he asked
"my parents aren't together, were always friends, never actually together. so when I was born my dad moved to cuba but still stayed in contact with me and yeah" I said explaining.
he nodded
"must be hard" he said
"sometimes" I shrugged
"my parents are divorced" he said
"i'm sorry" I said
"its cool" he shrugged it off
"can I have your number, so we can like talk or something?" he asked
"I don't have a phone actually" I said.
he looked surprised
"you don't want my number? got it" he said and looked away as his cheeks were turning colors
ohhh noooo
"oh no, I would love to have your number, I seriously don't have a phone" I said
"oh seriously? what kid doesn't have a phone?" he asked
"me apparently" I chuckled
"annalyse! I got you something" Cameron rolled down the window to his car as he pulled into the driveway
extraaa
"he already is buying you things" nate chuckled
"I guess so" I said
I stood up and so did nate
Cameron walked over to me with a white box that said iPhone 7 plus
wow okay, did he really just go out and buy me a freaking iPhone
he is insane
"Cameron" I said looking at it
"look at that" nate said
"I got you a phone" Cameron smiled
I smiled too
"you didn't have to do that" I said as he handed it to me
"yeah but I wanted to, you're gonna meet more people and I want you to be able to talk to them in private on you own you know. connect with the world. just a gift from me, a welcome to America gift" he said
"thank you" I said
"so you wanna hang out?" nate asked me
"i'll tell dad, go make friends" Cameron smiled
"okay" I said
and I followed nate down the street.
we were at some place, a park maybe
we walked over to the swings and sat there next to each other
"let me see" he said meaning the phone
I took it out the box, it was so pretty honestly
he pressed a button and it turned on with a white screen and said, "hello" in black letters
