The Initiates

Chapter 9

Tris' POV

      I'm in the infirmary and I have an aching headache. Tobias, Christina and Marlene are here. Judging by her clothes I'm guessing Marlene is my nurse..

"Thank God you're okay!" Tobias says while giving me a bear hug.

"What happened to me?" I ask frantically while Marlene pushes a button to make my bed sit up.

"After you ran after those boys, someone came behind you and... And they..."

"They knocked you out with a hammer. You've been in a coma for weeks..." Christina finished for him.

"Who would do this?" I ask.

"We're not sure. Everyone's been really worried about you. I stayed here in the infirmary waiting for you to wake up 24/7. Will and Christina took over training the initiates." Tobias says.

The initiates... "Did I sleep through training?" I ask between a sob.

"Yeah.. Oh and that reminds me! A cute little Amity initiate girl told me to give this to you last night. Four was asleep." Marlene says excitedly. "Here."

She hands me a note that says,

"Hey, Tris. I suppose if you're reading this you've woken up. You've been in a coma for a while and us initiates have really missed you. Just to catch you up, Zoe and Tanner are a couple now (and a very sexually active one if you know what I mean) and also, Noah and I are a couple now! Noah and I got together with Zeke and Uriah and we planned a big party at Zeke's apartment for when you wake up. To catch you up a little more, I'M OFFICIALLY DAUNTLESS!!! Along with: Tanner, Noah, Zoe, Scott, Katie and 4 Dauntless-borns. I really wish you were there for the rest of training. Eric was still an ass but it's okay cause we made it!!! Christina and I got a dress for you to wear to your party so after you're done reading this, tell Marlene to get Uriah and Zeke to spread the word so we can get our party on!!!

Zoe's POV

    

    "Did you hear the news?" Tanner asks me.

"No, what's going on?"

"Six is awake. And I bet everyone's going to be looking for the person who knocked her out. I told you this was a bad idea."

"Oh, hush. As long as we play it cool, no one will find out. I hid the hammer well."

"If only you hit her a little bit harder..." He says menacingly.

"I guess we'll just have to try a little bit harder next time." I say while going in for a kiss.
