So much so, that after her umpteenth unexpected coo as she zoomed in on his dimples, Jung Hoseok couldn't help but throw his head back. His laughter carried through the bustling cafeteria, garnering more than a few looks, before settling back onto her pouted lips, "Why on earth would he want to meet me?"
"He doesn't know of you," Hoseok nodded before raising his glass to his lips. "That's where I come in."
"Shouldn't you be playing cupid for yourself, then?" She raised an eyebrow.
"I'd date him," he winked before leaning forward. "But I like women."
"And you're not my type," she flicked some rice at him.
"I'm human," Hoseok deadpanned. "I am your type."
"My type is Kim Namjoon," she was quick to cut in.
"Is that so?"
There were words for the blush that crept to her cheeks as she slightly cleared her throat. There truly were and they began in the slow curve of Hoseok's lips. Especially as he saw her take much more interest than necessary in the single stray grain of rice on her tray, "Don't tell him that I said that."
"He'd find it cute," Hoseok teased.
"I'd like to choose what he'd find cute in me," she clucked her tongue before bringing her spoon to her lips.
"That's not how love works, Mina," he hummed.
"Love?" She giggled as she sat back. "Let's see if I like him first, yes?"
"Why would you not love my best friend?" Hoseok blinked back at her.
"Key-word being your best friend," she pursed her lips as she folded her arms across her chest.
"Exactly," he beamed. "He's wonderful."
"Then why is he single?" She easily shot back.
"Why are you?" He countered just as easily.
"Why are you?"
Hoseok stared.
Mina pursed her lips.
They both reached for their water in silent understanding.
After all, though Mina had joined the publishing company a year ago, she had seen Hoseok at work. True to his mesmerizing smile, her superior was the best cupid that one could have asked for. He had brought more than half of the couples surrounding them together. He seemed to excel in matters of romance, more than his own work. However, that was a whole other matter altogether.
For today, his bleak love life was the issue at hand.
Not that she would have pointed this out.
She knew better than to jump head first into other people's personal matters.
She was no Jung Hoseok.
She simply wanted to meet Kim Namjoon.
"So, if I asked-," Hoseok started but she shook her spoon at him.
"I'd remind you that you were trying to set me up with Kim Namjoon."
Indeed, she simply wanted to meet him. After all, if her superior's love life was bleak, hers was inexistent. It wouldn't hurt to add adorable dimples to it.
