Chapter One: Best Friends....right?
“Greyson this, Greyson that.” That’s all I hear. “Enchancer, Enchancer.” That’s all I see. I’m not an Enchancer and I never will be. He only cares about himself; no one wants a guy like that. I’m sure his fans would love to disagree with me but I’m right. Greyson and I…used to be best friends. The last words I hear him say were “I can’t believe you! You’re being completely selfish!” That event was 2 years ago, and I am NOT over it. I have to admit…maybe I’m so upset because I’m madly in love with him. I have had a crush on him for years.
*2 and a half years ago*
“Don’t worry! It’ll be okay.” He said.
“Greyson, do you think one day…” I said not finishing.
“One day?” He asked looking concerned.
I looked in his brown eyes for a minute, thinking about how much I loved him. Even though, he was my best friend.
“What’s on your mind?” He said flipping his hair.
“I was gonna say, do you think we’ll ever stop being friends?” I said. My voice was scared and shaky.
“No, I can’t possibly imagine.” “Not even when I’m famous and touring the world!” He said with a laugh and smile.
“The world, hmm looks like you have big goals.” I replied laughing.
“Just watch it’ll happen.” He said winking at me.
Greyson wrapped his arms around me and gave me a big hug. I was in heaven and just loved him so much. Before I knew it perfection was interrupted by the devil. I picked up his phone.
“It’s Lauren, here.” I said handing him the phone.
“Ehh, let it go to voicemail.” He said shrugging.
“She’s your girlfriend Greyson!” I said getting a little awkward.
“Yeah, and you’re my BEST friend. You come first…ALWAYS.” He said.
“Really?” I asked.
“Yeah, because you’ll be here forever…and she may not be.” He said smiling at me and flipping his hair again.
There’s something about Lauren, I didn’t trust her. I have bad feelings about their relationship.
*1 month later*
“You should tell Greyson.” She said. My friend Caitlyn had always had bad feelings too. We knew something didn’t feel right. Today we saw Lauren kissing another guy, I know for a fact that it wasn’t Greyson.
“You know I think I will, Caitlyn.” I said to her.
I found Greyson at home in his room writing songs. I just walked in.
“Hey!” he said in a happy tone.
“Uh, Hey.” I replied.
“Uh-oh, what’s the bad news.” He asked.
“How…how do you know it’s bad?” I asked him, my voice shaking.
He just looked at me. Of course he knew it was bad.
“I’m not sure how I’m gonna tell you.” I said looking down.
“Just tell me in the way that seems easiest.” He said.
“Okay, Lauren is cheating on you.” I said quickly.
He got silent. Greyson walked away from me. His face went from happy to sad within minutes.
“NO.” he said in a firm tone. Honestly the way he said it scared me, and made me want to cry.
“She is, Caitlyn and I saw her kissing some other guy.” I said almost crying.
“NO SHE ISN’T, YOU DON’T KNOW HER. SHE’D NEVER DO THAT TO ME.” He said beginning to cry.
“You don’t need her Greyson, you have me.” I said trying to comfort him.
Greyson glared at me.
“I can’t believe you! You’re being completely selfish!” he said.
“Greyson, I’m not!” I said bawling at this point.
“Leave me alone! I never wanna talk to you again, if you didn’t like Lauren you should have said so instead of making up some lie.” He said.
“GREYSON!! NO, IM JUST TRYING TO…” I cried.
I didn’t finish my sentence. I didn’t know what to say, or what to do. So I left. I went past Lisa on the couch, who tried to stop me.
“Are you alright sweet heart?” she tried to ask before I stormed out.
I was out the door. Lisa went up to check on Greyson, who was on the phone with Lauren crying.
*Phone conversation*
“She said she saw you kissing another guy.” He said.
“NO! Of course not! She likes you, she’s jealous.” Lauren said.
“I know. Anyway, I gotta go. I love you.” He replied.
“I love you too Greyson.” She said lying through her teeth.
I never understood why Greyson didn’t ever catch that. But that was the end of our friendship…for a while.
