The door to his room closed with a loud bang as Sehun lunged in. Damn it! He wasn't here yet. He could hear his heartbeat in his ears and a few blond threads of hair had fallen out of their carefully positioned place, now hanging in front of his eyes. Sehun deflated in disappointment as he blew them away and slumped on his stomach on the gigantic bed that he had. For what reason his parents had bought him one this big, he didn't know. He surely didn't need one, because he rarely slept anyway. One of the many downsides of schizophrenia.
Impatience and nervousness were slowly eating his insides. What if he isn't going to come? What if the meds actually started working and drove him away? Sehun's poor heart sped up and his eyes widened in fear at that thought, but just then, a literally angelic laughter reached his ears. Sehun shot up, whirling around nearly manically.
"You could try out for the school's soccer team with that speed. I really like soccer, it's such a fun game." He sighed and laughed.
There, sitting on Sehun's wooden dresser, slender arms and legs crossed, was Luhan. Sehun's all time favorite and beloved hallucination. And the one thing that no amount of therapy and drugs could succeed to destroy, at least not yet.
Face as beautiful and breathtaking as ever, light brown curls boyishly messy and in the need of a cut. Eyes big and wide like a baby deer's and lips like soft rose petals. The illusion of his pale and flawless porcelain skin shattered as he smiled at Sehun.
For Sehun it was impossible to decide which part he loved most about the beautiful boy. But one he definitely admired were the Luhan's snow white wings, identical to an angels. As if he wasn't angelic enough. It was amusing to watch as Luhan tried not to knock over everything in Sehun's room with them when he hopped down from the dresser.
The sad truth was, that Sehun was not okay, and might never be, but just seeing Luhan was enough to bring him as close to okay as he could ever dream of. And now that Luhan was standing in front of him, everything else became irrelevant. There was the proof that Sehun was truly insane; He was in love with the figment of his imagination.
"You're late you know." Sehun eyed him playfully. Luhan smiled and hopped on his over sized bed, a couple of small feathers falling from his wings. "No, you're just early." He hummed. Sehun chuckled. "I'm never early for anything." He scoffed and fell down with a thud next to Luhan who sat up and hugged his knees. He turned his amused gaze to Sehun and stared at him with odd curiosity. "You missed meeee~" He teased with a wicked smile and tried to ruffle Sehun's hair, but Sehun was faster and caught his hand.
Another surprising thing about Luhan was, that Sehun could actually feel him as flesh and blood or whatever he was, unlike the rest of his hallucinations. This was something Sehun was very happy about, even if it kept him up all night every night wondering how it could possibly be possible.
Luhan's hand felt warm and soft, just like a human's. But to Sehun Luhan seemed a thousand times more extraordinary and fragile with his childish innocence and small body, so he was almost afraid he'd brake from a touch a little too rough.
"So?" The blonde muttered and felt his cheeks tingling slightly. Luhan laughed. "Holy shit, are you actually blushing?" He leaned in and captured Sehun's face with his fingers, deer eyes scanning the reddened skin. "You missed me~" He cooed smugly and continued to smile wickedly which in reality made him look even more adorable instead of, well, wicked.
"Yeah, yeah. I have homework." Sehun lightly swatted away the hand that was grasping his face and rose from the bed.
"Boo! Come on, I came all this way to be with you." Luhan protested with a pout. Sehun chocked an 'aww'. "From where?" He raised a brow, leaning against his desk. "Your subconsciousness." Luhan's answer was more of a question. But then the playful glint in his eyes turned serious. "Your mom's coming." And then he was gone.
Sehun blinked. "Wait! I'm sorry, come back!" He scanned the air with his hands and closed and re-closed his eyes, trying to get Luhan to appear.
"Sehun?" Came a voice somewhere near him.
"Luhan?" He answered automatically without thinking, but the angel like boy was nowhere to be seen. Just his mother standing at his door.
"I came to tell you that dinner's ready." Her voice was cold and her stare just as freezing. Sehun had just given away that his medication wasn't working like she wanted them to.
