Your hands - grabbing my arms, not letting go - were so big.

The rainy season ended a month ago, but Chihaya still found herself taking refuge in that quaint cafe on the corner of an empty street. It was her routine to get lunch there every weekend, but her focus drifted onto the man she met all those weeks ago.

His appearances in the cafe were erratic. Sometimes he'd be in there for hours, others just minutes.

If she came in and he was already seated, she would join him; and vice versa.

He probably learned more about her than she did about him. Though he seemed more interested in her school than anything else.

On a cloudy afternoon, she was sat alone in the desolate cafe. Flicking through one of Akutagawa's works, she slowly took sips from her coffee. One half of a ham and salad sandwich just beside her, laying temptingly on the pure white plate.

Her hunger was sated with just one half though, so the remains went uneaten.

Eyes trained on the words spread across the page, her attention wasn't in the real time. The slight groan of the plush booth chair jolted her from that concentration - as well as the dull scraping sound her plate made as it was dragged across the table.

Chihaya looked up through her eyelashes at her new companion. He had already taken a bite from her sandwich and was flicking through the drinks menu.

She returned to her book, stealing subtle glances at the man - who was doing the same thing to her. A rather peculiar coincidence that they didn't manage to catch the other in the act.

That bird that seemed to be his pet, or it followed him around for some reason, nestled itself into her hair. Disliking the idea of becoming a nest for the small canary, but rendered useless against cute things, she could only smile and bear with the extra - albeit tiny - weight on her head.

It wasn't the first time, so she's practically gotten used to both the bird and the cold man's behaviour by now.

Including his colossal diet.

She barely ate a thing while he ordered almost everything on the menu.

The table was cluttered with all sorts of foods. Rice, sandwiches, cake, soup, different meats and fish, omelet, ice cream...

Chihaya sighed at the familiar sight, rendering her speechless yet again. A wry smile and a sweat drop as he began to shove forkfuls of each dish in one after another. If one could have dignity and look adorable while doing all that, then this man did.

She only had to blink and the food was all gone. It was a wonder he didn't gain weight, or rather, he actually had a stomach big enough to store all the food. It did make her increasingly curious about what his job included.

Cross country? Literally.

On the last item, the chocolate parfait, he scooped up some of the top ice cream. It was covered in chocolate sauce, chocolate sprinkles, there was even a flake and wafer.

He held it out towards her.

She peered at him questioningly, stupidly wondering what he wanted her to do with it. Of course the answer was obvious, but she'd prefer checking first.

"I don't like chocolate much." He explained boredly, edging the spoon closer to her mouth.

The question of why did he order a chocolate parfait instead of strawberry did cross her mind. Then it went to surprise that he didn't like chocolate. It wasn't her business anyway.

She shut her eyes for a moment to compose herself before reaching a hand out to take the spoon.

Seemed as if that wasn't the reaction he was going for. As told by him leaning over and shoving it into her mouth when she opened it to question him pulling the utensil away.
