Connor's POV
We finally made it into the town and we parked in front of a café.
"Howley, we're here." I said, unbuckling my seatbelt.
I didn't hear any movements I looked over to her and she was staring into space, of course with her scowl, as if she was in deep thought.
I nudged her a bit and she jolted up and looked around.
"We're here Howley, are you okay?" I was concerned.
"Yeah, I'm fine." She nodded and looked around.
I unbuckled her seatbelt and we both got out the car.
"Hmmm, it's 11:32, we can do a couple things in the town and at about... 2:30, we could go back home and change into our bathing suits and go the beach." I explained, as I stretched.
"Sounds like a plan." Her soft voice whispered.
I grabbed her hand and walked down the sidewalk, with our fingers intertwined and a stupid smile plastered on my face. I felt so happy having Howley beside me and knowing that we became one last night, made me even happier.
"I love it when you smile." She said. I looked down on her, to see that she was looking at me with a smile.
"You're smiling again." I admired her gorgeous features.
"Awwwww, you two are so cute."
Howley and I looked in the direction of the voice, and looked to see a woman in a long green dress, short blonde hair, holding a baby boy, about 8 months.
He had green eyes like the woman, chubby rosy cheeks, and light brown hair."You're very stunning ma'am." Howley said with curtsey.
"Ohhh my, and she has lots of manners." The woman laughed, placing a hand on her cheek.
"You have a very cute baby, what's his name?" I asked.
"His name is Sage and my name is Mealanie, nice to meet you." She smiled giving me a handshake.
"I'm Connor and this is my girlfriend Howley." I introduced.
Sage giggled at the sound of Howley's name.
When I turned to Howley she was stiff and her eyes were emotionless.
"Howley what's wrong?" I asked.
"Yeah, what's wrong sweety?" Melanie joined in.
"My father's name was Sage." Her voice sounded so broken, like she was about to cry. I saw tears forming in her eyes, but she blinked them away.
Warriors don't cry.
"Oh, I'm sorry to hear that Howley. Would you like to hold him?" Melanie asked. Sage bounced in his mother's arms and giggled.
"I would love to." Howley spoke.
As Melanie handed Sage to Howley, he stretched out his hands to Howley and smiled.
He's very eager.
"Put an arm under his butt and put your hand on his back to support him." Melanie instructed.
Howley did as Melanie said and Sage played with her hair and giggled.
"Howley, what kind of dye did you use for your hair? It's so pretty." Melanie gushed.
"Dye?" Howley was beyond confused and that's when I had to step in.
"Melanie she didn't use dye for her hair, it's all natural." I explained.
