"Ally! Wait up!" Ellie yelled to me as I walked on the deserted street. I stopped looking back at her smiling, "Maybe you should walk a bit faster, hm?" I said as I continue to walk. I could tell Ellie wasn't so happy with what I said. She ran to me and slowed down next to me. "You could've at least waited for me," she said with a slight grumpiness in her voice. My heart thumped at a slow pace as we turned at Near St. My mind wondered into the sky as Ellie began talking about things I couldn't focus on. Before I knew it we were at home. The same old light blue house we had lived in ever since Ellie was born. I have always thought about the sacred spot I had found in my old town. "Ally. Come on," my mom said a few feet away from me as I stood in front of the house. I began to make my way to the chipped, white door stumping up two steps. I set my hand on the handle turning, and opening the door. I walked in as my mom walked in after me. Same old smell. Same old creaky wooden floors. I slipped my shoes off as I hung my coat on the same old coat rack. Nothing has changed. Not even the crack in the wall from the small flood we got last year. Everything is the "same."
