[T] Grrr... Wattpad

So I've been on Wattpad for years as a reader, without encountering any big problems. But in my one month stint as a writer, I've discovered many *cough* glitches *cough* that are quite annoying. I'm not sure why anybody would want to read this, but I need a place to rant. So here we go:

1. Unsolicited messages: Wattpad has a limit on unsolicited messages. Sounds good, right? We all want to avoid spam as such. But say, I want to thank somebody for voting on my story. Say I want to thank many, many, MANY people for voting on my story. Wattpad counts all of those messages as unsolicited as well.

So what happens? I try to post on somebody's message board, and it shows up as gray all of a sudden... or it doesn't load... I refresh, still no message. I try again. I write out the entire message all over again and click post. The screen just freezes on me. I tried doing this for days, you guys. DAYS. I was ready to rip my hair out of my roots, when I finally figured out I'd reached a set limit on unsolicited messages.

Why Wattpad? WHY? At least tell users when we're getting close to the limit or even at the limit. Don't just make the message all gray and expect us to figure it out.

Cause we be mad when we do. Hella mad.

2. Adding multiple images to a chapter: This is another thing that is a waste of my time. It's a little glitch in Wattpad's programming that makes it so that I can't add multiple of the same image to the same chapter, when I'm editing

Why would I want to do that? Good question. Chapter dividers, my friends. They look like this:

If you've read Fleeter, you'll notice that I use chapter dividers when I change point-of-view or even when I'm simply switching scenes

If you've read Fleeter, you'll notice that I use chapter dividers when I change point-of-view or even when I'm simply switching scenes. They're add clarity for the readers, so I use them, consistently.

So what's the problem? You saw the chapter divider up above, right? Good. Now if I try to put one down here:

It's blank right? Because it's the SAME IMAGE. Wattpad doesn't let me insert one right there. Of course, that's not supposed to happen, but it does. It's a glitch. How do I go around this? I click the "preview" button while I'm editing, then I click "go back to editing". Now I can insert the same image again:

Why do I have to keep clicking "preview" while I'm writing? It's an additional, totally unnecessary step

Grrr... Wattpad.

3. Line Justification: Okay, so Wattpad might not be the most perfect writing platform. But it's still designed to be a writing platform. Which is why I don't understand this.

How come I can't choose center, left, or right justification before I start typing in text? Sometimes I know ahead of time that I want something to be centered (like a title), but I haven't decided what it's going to be.

And then, after I do type in the text and change the justification. How come the next line changes to the same justification. For example:

If I type here

And then here

Notice how both the lines above are center justified? I only highlighted and changed the alignment of the first line of text.

Grrr... Wattpad.

Have you experienced frustration with any of the above? Are there any glitches missing from the list that I should add?
