I've been inspired by the many, amazing graphic designers I've seen on Wattpad, so today I downloaded and played around with GIMP.
This is what I came up with:

So... not too bad. Obviously, nowhere near perfect (I'll probably cringe at it later), but it's okay for a first attempt.
As an added challenge, I attempted to fulfill the requirements outlined by #FANTASCI in their contest "Lord of Graphics, Round 3": https://my.w.tt/qMAPRytjdM
That was just for fun–I'm not actually a participant, just a fan. ^^

UPDATE: I couldn't stop myself, so here's a new cover I made for Fleeter using GIMP. What do you think? It still needs polishing up, but I'm curious to see if people like this better than the one I have now.
