Can't Get Enough

Caroline's POV:

I woke up in the middle of the night to Kelly screaming her head off. Usually I would be bugged that I had to get up in the middle of the night but this time I wasn't. I was happy to get up and tend to her. I sat up and looked over to Luke who was already by her side rocking her.

"She's probably hungry." I said.

"She looks like it." He said handing her to me so I could feed her.

"I'm sorry I missed her coming into the world. I tried my hardest to get here fast." He told me.

"It's okay Luke. Don't beat yourself up over it, like I said she came out quick." I said holding his hand.

"I know, I just wish I could've heard her first cry and cut the cord." He squeezed my hand.

"I wish that too. But you're here now and that's all that matters." I said as he kissed me.

"You're right. She's beautiful, looks like Kelly and her momma too." He smiled looking down at her.

"She's got her Daddy's lips, she's got Bobo's eyes, Kelly's nose, Til's wild hair..." I began saying.

"Tate's loud scream..." He added on.

"That too." I laughed.

"Man, who would've thought I could fall in love all over again." He said pinching her cheek.

"I know right?" I said.

"You wanna hold her again?" I asked.

"Of course I do." He perked up. He took her from my hands and burped her.

"I love you so much princess. You have no idea." He began baby talking to her, "You're not gonna have any boyfriends at all ever, the only boys you need in your life are me and your brothers." He kissed her little nose.

She stuck out her little arm to stretch and yawned before cuddling back into Luke's chest. He reached out his finger and she held onto it.

"Oh goodness." He smiled at her.

"Lay down with me?" I asked scooting over on the hospital bed. He walked over and stretched out carefully with her in his arms.

"We made this little thing." He giggled.

"Yeah we did." I laid my head on his shoulder.

I closed my eyes and began falling asleep again. This time when I woke up it was from the nurse telling me that we were cleared to leave.

"I already packed your stuff, Til's bringing up the car right now." Luke said buckling Kelly into her car seat.

The nurse wheeled me out and Luke followed, he put Kelly in the car then helped me get in afterwards. Til moved to the passenger seat and Luke drove making sure to go slow. We only lived about ten minutes from the hospital so we got home quickly. Luke unloaded us and got everything situated before sitting down on the couch to hold Kelly.

"I can't get enough of her." He smiled wide.

"She's gonna be a Daddy's girl for sure." I laughed.

Luke's POV:

After we got settled in for a while back home I went and picked up Tate and Bo from Nilla's house. I left Kelly and Carol at home since they were both asleep. I knocked on the door and waited until I heard kids running towards the door and Nilla opened it.

"Daddy!" Bo and Tate yelled running to me.

"Hey man, how's the baby?" Nilla asked as I picked the kids up for some hugs.

"She's good, was here quick. I missed the birth." I said frowning, "Thanks for taking the kids in with such late notice. You were they only one in town we could get ahold of right now."

"No problem. They did good, Tate dropped his dog into the toilet a couple of times but other than that everything went smooth." He told me

"I'm glad, I better get going though. Carol's alone right now and I still gotta pick up some things from the store for her." I said.

"Alrighty bossman, I'll see to later I guess." He said goodbye.

"Later man."

I grabbed the kids and put them into the car. I swung past the drug store and picked up some Ibuprofen for Carol since she was in pain, before getting back home.

"Hey Bobo you remember when you first met Tate? And how for a while you had to be quiet around the house." I asked him.

"Yeah Daddy, I remember." He said kicking his feet around.

"Well Mama had another baby yesterday. She's your sister and you get to meet her here pretty soon. She's little just like how Tot was and it hurts her ears when people are loud so you're gonna have to be quiet again for awhile. Can you do that for me?" I asked looking into the mirror.

"Yessir." He nodded his head.

"And you gotta be careful with Mama since she's hurting from carrying the baby for so long, you gotta be a real big brother kinda like Til is to you guys and you gotta teach Tate how to be quieter too." I looked at him.

"Okay Daddy I will." He looked out the window, "What's her name?"

"Her name is Kelly Cynthia." I said.

"Kelly...like Til's mama's name was?" He asked.

"Yes Bobo, that's exactly it." I grinned a little bit.

"Oh. Does she cry a lot? Because Tate cries a lot."

"Ya know Bobo, she does- but not as much as Tate did." I assured him.

"What does she look like?" He asked as I pulled into our driveway.

"You'll just have to wait n see." I said parking the truck.

Side note: The book is coming to a close within the next Chapter. I'm unsure yet on whether I'm not I'll continue this series or start a whole new one. When I plan out more in the future, I'll be sure to let y'all know.
