Prologue:

Imagine: To conjure up an image of something that is not physically there.

They told her she imagined it.

They told her that the shadows were from items in her room. But her room consisted of her bed and a built in robe.

They told her the sounds were from the tree's rattling on her window pane. Her room was on the bottom floor, her window was next to a wooden fence.

They told her the whispering was all in her head. But what they whispered was too dark to have come from a eight year olds head.

She knew better. She knew the dark shadows and the sounds were much more then petty excuses. She knew they were coming. She tried to warn them, they didn't listen, not even when they were being killed off, one by one.
