The Neglecting Alpha

Ch.3

I start a fire in the cave. Probably not a good idea but it helps with the cold. I only just realized that I'm still in my pajamas, with all that's happened today I never had a chance to change out of them. Though now there ruined beyond repair with all the mud they have on them not to mention a few tears. I'm suddenly really hungry, and I realize I still haven't eaten anything. At the hospital they gave me an IV to rehydrate me and wake me up but the doctor told me to eat when I got home.

Maybe I'll starve to death out here. Not for a few weeks though. I'll just stay out here in my misery. I don't think I even have the strength to stand at the moment. I wish I had never met Thomas my life was fine without him.

Thomas's pov

Well I'm a huge dick. But she wasn't supposed to be back yet. I figured the doctor would make her stay at least overnight to observe her that was a miscalculation on my part.

"Tommy let's go back to doing what we were before." Says the girl I was just having sex with. I don't remember her name but she had a nice enough body so I figured why not have some fun.

See I love Cindy I mean I have to she's my mate or whatever but I still want to have fun. I'm only 20 I don't feel ready to like settle down yet I figured I'd just tell her once I'm like 30 or something and we could be together then. But whenever another guy touched her or was even around her I got crazy jealous. So I made the law that if any guy got near her I would execute them on the spot. After about the first 4 guys people understood that I was not kidding and most guys stayed away. Of course there are always some guys that must have a death wish and still dare to look at what's mine I kill those guys too. I guess I understand though Cindy really is beautiful she has platinum blonde hair, big blue eyes, fair skin, and a body that doesn't quit.

If she weren't my mate I definitely would have gone after her a long time ago and she probably would have ended up like this girl I'm on top of, whatever her name is.

"Sorry hun but I think it's time you left the moods gone." With that I stood up and walked towards the stairs in time to see Cindy open up the door.

"Cindy wait..." slam.

She's gone. I get it she's probably upset about what she saw I'll let her cool off and go get her at her house tomorrow so I can explain to her what the nature of our relationship is going to be.

"Thomas are you sure you don't want to play anymore." I see the girl come out of my room in one of my shirts. I like that shirt she better not ruin it.

"I'm sure bye ummm.."

"Did you forget my name?"

"It's not that I forgot it's that I didn't care enough to remember."

"It's Stacy you big jerk." She said about to storm off.

"Wait Stacy love..." I say suddenly realizing something.

"Yes Thomas." She says looking really excited.

"Leave the shirts it one of my favorites... you can go now." And with that she took off the shirt quickly put on her clothes and was gone.
I should get to sleep I need to go get Cindy back tomorrow.

The next day...

I'm almost to Cindy's house when I see the last person I wanted to see in front of her door.

"What are you doing here Blake." I ask unamused at his persistence to "befriend" what's mine.

"I'm here to make sure Cindy's ok, but she's not answering."

"Move..." I say pushing him to the side and breaking down the door. I'm really not in the mood to play right now.

"She's not here." I say turning back to go home.

"What how do you know that." He asks.

"I'd be able to smell her if she were home. It smells like she hasn't been home for about 2 days one of those days she was at my house the other day she's MIA."

"Wait if she was at your house shouldn't you know where she's at." He asks sounding amused. He's really starting to piss me off again.

"Look I know you're not used to taking orders since you were the alpha of your old pack..." I tell him "but I was nice enough to let you live and even join my pack after yours was killed off by rouges. The least you could do is follow my orders and leave my mate alone."

"I'm sorry but I can't do that's you see I don't like the way you're treating your mate, some of us wish we still had our mate to love and you treat yours like she's nothing but a nuisance."

"Look don't tell me how to treat what's mine if you want to be all lovey dovey with your mate the second you meet her be my guest but I intend to play the field a bit more."

"I can't be all lovey dovey with my mate because she's dead, and if you don't start caring about yours more she'll end up just like mine." He says as he starts to walk off.

"What do you mean by that? Is that a threat?"

"No it's a warning, see I was once like you arrogant but when I met my mate I changed, and she still died because I couldn't protect her. You aren't even making an effort to protect yours how long until one of your enemies try's to kill her. Plus you have no idea where she is. I lost my mate and if you aren't careful you'll lose yours too" He says and with that he runs off.

Many I really hate that guy what does he know I know Cindy's fine she's probably at one of her friends houses or something. I don't know her friends though I haven't been keeping that close of tabs on her but I knows she's probably safe. She's safe right? Great I'm letting what that guy said get to me. This is stupid of course she's safe. I need to go for a run and clear my head.

As I run through the forest I smell something incredibly good and something incredibly bad. The incredibly good thing is my mate and the bad thing is the giant fire that's surrounding the cave she's in. Is she an idiot or something why didn't she get out.

I quickly run into the cave ignoring the burning I feel. I grab Cindy and run as fast as I can away from the ever increasing fire. I run until I get into town and then have the fire department go to put out the fire. After that I run to the hospital. Suddenly Blake's dumb word echo through my head " I lost my mate and if you aren't carful you'll lose yours too."
