The Neglecting Alpha

Ch.4

Cindy's rushed into the back so the doctors can perform surgery. Though we heal quickly she was in that fire for a long time.

"Alpha we can examine your burns you have now." A flirty nurse says. She's not bad looking but I'm not in the mood right now.

"I'm fine." I say showing her my arms that have already almost completely healed.

"Oh... right let me know if you need anything." She says disappointedly walking away.

Five hours pass and I still haven't heard anything from the doctors. What kind of hospital is this, I'm starting to feel angry the next person that talks to me better watch out.

"Thomas." I hear a voice behind me.

"What!" I ask turning around to see my parents...Opps.

"I know your stressed so I'm going to ignore the fact that you just yelled at your poor frail mother and father, but it had better not happen again." My mom tells me in a firm tone.

"Sorry mom," I say "but why are you guys even here?"

"We told you we were coming to check up on the pack weeks ago Thomas don't you listen." My mom said teasing me.

"Right sorry I forgot things have been pretty busy around here lately."

"I trust you can handle it." Says my father who has remained quiet up until this point.

"Of course father."

"Good, I trust you with this pack son but maybe I should have waited to hand it over to you. You were only 18 after all." He says stone faced.

"No father I can handle it things have been a breeze up until recently."

"That's right that reminds me, why are you sitting in a hospital waiting room." My mom asks.

On cue the doctor comes out. "Alpha the girls in stable condition now."

"What girl?" My mom asks.

"Don't worry about it I'll meet you both back at the house." I say turning to go check on Cindy.

"I know you did not just blow off my question. Tommy come tell us what's going on." My mom says. I turn around by the look she's giving me I can tell she isn't going to let this one go.

So I explained the situation to her how Cindy is my mate and how I wasn't really ready to commit to that yet so I put out a law forbidding guys to talk to her and she basically had nobody in her life because of it. I obviously left out the part about me and the other girl I'd be dead if I told my mom about that. Recalling everything that happened made me feel like a huge jerk but I'd never admit that to anyone.

"Oh hunny we raised an idiot." My mom said turning her back to me and facing my father.

"Hey I heard that!" I said annoyed with her already.

"Dear What are we going to do, that poor girl has been living in hell because of our idiot of a son." She said completely ignoring me.

"We should probably talk to her parents are they here." My father said scanning the room for them.

"They're dead." I say turning to go check on Cindy. Suddenly I feel something tug on my ear hard.

"You left your mate alone and forbade her from having friends all because you weren't "ready" to have a mate. Your acting like a jerk." My mom says as she drags me into the hospital.
