Chapter 3

A/N: DOUBLE UPDATE YAY!!!

Natalie's P.O.V.

I woke up at 8:24am to see Reed still asleep and in the weirdest position ever. I shook him, but all he did was push me of the bed.

"Reed, if you don't get up, I'm gonna get iced water!" I yelled/whispered. That got Reed up quick, to quick he got light headed and fell back down on his bed. "You probably should have gotten up slower."

"Ya' think." Reed said, getting up slower and started walking to the bathroom until I stopped him.

"Oh Nah, you are not going first slow poke." I said running to the bathroom and locking the door behind me. I heard Reed say 'Wow rude', but I didn't care he is slow.

After I did what I had to do, I got out to see Reed shirtless.

"REED ALEXANDER DEMING, PUT ON A SHIRT!" I yelled. He jumped, but then realized it was just me then he turned around and said:

"You know you like it." He said cockily with his 'cute' smile.

"Whatever helps you sleep at night,Reed." I said in a semi-dramatic tone. It was funny seeing his fake hurt expression.

"Well, people actually enjoy my presence."

"I do enjoy your presence, but you have your weird side and I have my weird side that's why were best friends."

"Okay, to be complete honest that made no sense."

"It didn't have to. Hey, I have to go home and change then I'm going somewhere so."

"You want my mom to take you where you need to go?" He's always so nice.

"No thanks, I can walk." I say, thinking of the place where I always go.

"Okay, then see ya' later." He said.

"See ya" I say while hugging him and walk home right next door, to my house.

After I finish changing I start to walk to the graveyard to see James.

Once I got there I go straight to James' grave.

"Hey James." I say knowing he's right there, laying in the ground, sleeping.

"You know Reed, well he's been helping me a lot, mostly when we first met." As the memory came back I almost cried for what would have happened if Reed wasn't there.

~Flashback~

"Natalie, what's the matter?" Reed said.

"I'm fine, don't worry." I just lied to Reed."I need to go to the restroom, I'll be right back." Reed gave me a look that I didn't want to see, mostly on his face. I walked to the bathroom and got out my razor.

"Why did that have to happen to you James? You never did anything wrong. It should have been me not you. Everyone misses you. I miss you, but I'll be there soon enough." With that I started to cut up and down my arm. That's when I heard the door open and I fell to the ground.

"NATALIE, why? Why would you do this?" Reed said, crying.

"I miss him too much Reed." I said quietly.

"Well, I'm sure he's saying that you deserve to be here living the life he can't anymore. He's watching over you all the time." Reed said, crying so hard that I started to cry.

"MOM, CALL AN AMBULANCE RIGHT NOW, HURRY!" He screamed. "Stay awake, please just stay away, please please." He kept saying to himself, but I heard him.

Everything started to get blurry and then focused then blurry then focused. I started to see black dots.Then the paramedics came in and hurried me on the gurney. That's when I blacked out.

*******

I woke up in a hospital bed with the sun shining through the window. I looked around and saw Reed sleeping on a chair. He stay here for me? I saw him stir and I looked at the window again.

"Natalie, your awake." He said, tearing up a bit.

"Yup and I'm alive." I said a bit sad.

"He's watching over you. You may not see or feel it, but he is." Reed is always like this. Always so sweet.

~End of Flashback~

"He told me your always watching over me, so you know when I've done something stupid and then you would probably be like 'Are you crazy?'. Yes, I am James and you knew/know that, but I can't hear you say that," I started crying a bit, "I miss you like crazy James, I always wish you were here and not gone, but I can't change it." Now I was full on sobbing. After I calmed myself I said my 'bye' to James.

"Well, it's getting late I'll see ya' soon James." With that I started to walk home.

Once I got home I saw my mom and dad watching TV in the living room.

"Hey Natalie, where were you? We ask Reed where you went, but he didn't know. We called your phone, but you didn't pick up. Did you see him? My mom said, and once she said him I hugged her and started crying again.

"I miss him, mom." I said in between sobs.

"I know you do. Nat we all miss him, but he's in a better place now." James' parents, my dad and my mom knew how close we were. You could say we were brother and sister. After James passed his parents moved leaving him here because they didn't want to think of their dead son.

My dad came over to where my mom and I were and hugged us both.

I was in my room thinking and looking at some old photo's of James and I. That is until I heard a thup at my window. I walked to my window and looked down to see Reed standing there. I opened my window and Reed started talking.

"Come down." Is he crazy? Wait don't answer that.

"Why?"

"I need to show you something. Now, hurry before it gets to dark." Whatever.

I put some shoes on and walked to Reed's yard.

"What do you want to show me at," I looked at my watch,"9:10pm?"

"It's a place not to far from here, but we have to hurry come on." Then we ran to wherever Reed wanted to go.

"I feel like we've been walking for forever. Can you please just tell me where we're going?" I said, getting a bit annoyed.

"We're almost there. Now, stop complaining." In a few minutes we were standing in the most beautiful place I have seen in San Antonio.

"Wow" I whispered.

"I know" Reed whispered.

"This is beautiful." Reed whispered something that I think I wasn't suppose to hear, but I did.

"Not as beautiful as you."
