"Mnghh.." Travis groaned, stirring. The endless beeping from his alarm clock went on. Exhausted, he pulled the pillow over his head for just a few seconds. Which became minutes. The boy was quite the heavy sleeper. Eventually, the tired boy raised a limp arm and forcefully propped his hand on the snooze button, sitting upright instantly. He hopped out of bed and gave a good stretch, yawning. Hopefully he wasn't late again.
After eating breakfast and whatnot, he made his way to school. However, something felt.. off. Something that made the ground shake, as if there was Godzilla on the premises. Slowly turning around, low and behold, it was Sorky. Running? That's a first. No wonder it felt like the earth was on the bridge of collapsing.
"Travis!" Scowled the boy, panting once he's caught up. Travis blinked, forcing a small yet convincing smile towards his friend. "Hey! What's shakin'?" Travis said, only to be taken aback by Sorky's rudeness, "WELL! For one, you- you.." he paused, trying to puzzle up an excuse. Travis smiled up at him curiously, and it was as if they locked eyes. It wasn't a smug smirk. It wasn't even a sarcastic smile. It was that soft smile that's so contagious it makes you smile. Sorky held back a grin, instead turning his head away and grumbling rudely. Finally, school. Standing in the halls, Sorky leaned in, muttering between grit teeth, "Oh, and don't forget our damn sleepover." Travis nodded before parting, Sorky smacking his lower back. "Seeya, lame-o." The boy shrieked, jolting in surprise. Sorky just walked away with a small smirk. Travis glanced back at him, rubbing his back. Ouch. "Hey, you alright there?" Claus rose a brow. They've been friends for a while now. "Yeah, just Sorky. You know him," the boy awkwardly laughed. Claus didn't seem convinced. "You should tell the fatty to lay off! Show some confidence, you got it in ya," he smiled and playfully winked, giving a thumbs up with his robo-arm. They've been good friends for a while now, having pants problems and all. "Now, Ness and the others are waiting. C'mon, Travis."
English class. It's never been much fun, but Travis always has the chance to daydream. His head propped up by his hands, elbows on the desk, he'd spend the next few minutes daydreaming. He would spend the next few minutes daydreaming if Sorky didn't keep throwing paper airplanes at him. Was he trying to get a message across? Travis tugged one of the planes out of his hair, turning to look at Sorky, puzzled. He pointed to it from his desk and made a "open it" gesture. And Travis did.
It was a picture of the teacher. A badly drawn one. Sorky was snickering quietly. Travis stared at it blankly, the teacher snapping towards him. "Travis, what is that? Passing notes in my class, I see?" He rose his head quickly, shaking his head, "oh, no, sir! I was just about to.. to throw it out." That was a close one! After embarrassingly tossing out the paper, he scurried back over to his desk and stared at his blank page. No notes today.
Free time at long last.
"Hey, Travis," nudged Sorky beside him. "Did'ja like the note?" Travis glanced up at him and gave a fake laugh. "Haha, yup, it was pretty rad." Sorky snorted, "God, you're so outdated," and after a few more insults, he left. The rest of the day went pretty fine. More mindless insults, but Travis was already used to it. By the end of the day, Claus had struck up a conversation with him about a certain fatty.
"I'm telling you, Paula knows best. When a girl- or guy, unfortunately for you- treats you like garbage, they totally have the hots for ya." Claus snickered, "I feel kinda bad!" Travis shifted uncomfortably, looking down. "I think he's just doing this to bother me. But it's fine." Claus patted his shoulder in remorse, "you're way too chill for that guy. I don't know how you do it!" Neither does Travis.7:00! Time for the sleepover! While Travis was preparing the popcorn, there was a knock at the door. Swinging it open, it's non other than Sorky. "Hey." Travis fumbled a bit in surprise. His mom wasn't even home yet! "Oh, hi!" Right! People! Travis felt a little embarrassed to be in his striped boxers, a t-shirt and high socks, not usually his sleepwear, but his mom thought it was cute, and fortunately for him Sorky didn't look like he cared. He closed the door, smiling, "you're the fir-" "-DING-DONG! DING-DONG! DING-DONG!" Wonderful. "You can, uhm, go get comfortable in the living room, I'll just.." and Sorky did, grumbling something to himself. "Claus! Lucas! Hey," Travis grinned in relief. Lucas was holding back an energetic Claus from ringing the doorbell again. "Hi Travis, can we just-" Lucas was cut off by Claus, "Ring the bell! Ring the bell!!" "Right. Come on in!" Travis hurried them inside before Claus could get his hands on the doorbell again.
"Ness and Ninten are gonna be late for some reason-" Lucas said, once again interrupted by his twin. "Ness is probably with Paulaaa~" Lucas frowned a little; jealous? "We can wait!" Hummed Travis, "I got popcorn!"
