A Shinobi's World: The Forgotten Uchiha

Chapter 3 - Takeshi

“How do we know that Takeshi’s the one responsible? It could be more than one person doing this. Maybe he’s just a victim like the rest of the shinobi. All this suspicion because an Uchiha relative awakens the Sharingan doesn’t make any sense.” Minato explains, not convinced about the new suspect.

“We don’t know,” responds Jiraiya. “We’re just trying get as many leads as we can and this is the only one that we know is a possibility. The powers of the Sharingan are limitless, it is possible that it's the one behind this mysterious jutsu… If it even is a jutsu.”

“Try asking the Uchiha clan yourself about Takeshi,” adds Kakashi. “I have a feeling that they were holding something back from me. Maybe if the Hokage asks them, their responses will be different. Doesn’t your wife have a close friend from the clan? Take her with you if you decide to go.”

“That’s all we know for now. I’ll try to get some more intel tomorrow,” says Jiraiya.

“I’ll take my team to the places where the missing shinobi were last seen,” adds Kakashi. “Maybe we’ll find out more information.”

After releasing the Toad Mouth Bind, Jiraiya retrieves all the files back from the toad.

“As promised,” says Jiraiya after picking up a few of the files and hands them to Minato. “Do you need any help getting the rest back to your office?”

“No thanks,” replies Minato as he takes the files from Jiraiya. He then walks to the rest of the folders lying on the ground and sits down on the stack, smiling at the two.

Both Jiraiya and Kakashi raise an eyebrow, questioning what Minato is doing. Perhaps this current event has made the Hokage crazy.

Minato waves the two goodbye and using the Flying Thunder God technique, he disappears from Jiraiya and Kakashi’s sight.

'Wow,' thought Kakashi. ‘Didn’t think that he’d use that jutsu outside of battle.’

Jiraiya starts to laugh loudly, placing his hand on Kakashi’s shoulder. “That’s Konoha’s Yellow Flash for you,” he says, laughing some more.

Kakashi glares weirdly at the unbelievably happy sage, and without saying anything, quickly leaps away from building to building, leaving the Sannin by himself.

'That kid needs to work more on his social skills', Jiraiya thinks to himself as he walks away companionless.

Back at his office, Minato reads Takeshi’s file to see if he can find out more about the seemingly familiar shinobi.

Takeshi was ranked chunin just one year after graduating from the academy. His academy grades were above average, but nothing to be surprised about. He was assigned average chunin level missions… all except for one.

An S rank mission, assigned by the previous Hokage, just one month before his resignation.

The mission was failed.

'Why would Lord Third assign an S rank to a chunin?' Thought Minato in frustration. A mission that rank is supposed to be assigned to experienced jonin.

With that in mind, the troubled Hokage leaves his office and heads to his predecessors residence, taking the file with him.

Before Minato’s fist could even knock on the door, the previous Hokage had it opened.

The Third Hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi, looks up at Minato with a smile, complete with his smoking pipe in mouth.

“Yondaime (Lord Fourth), what can I do for you this late at night?” The Third asks Minato, inviting him in.
