Mistake: Silence
Perfect! You gained a few reads, and people are starting to comment more and more. Users are taking the time to respond to your writing, and sure, you can't respond to all activity. But never remain silent!
How to correct this?
If you see that someone has liked a number of your chapters, stop by their page and say thank you. If they take the time to comment, respond! Being approachable and friendly goes a long way. Wattpad is all about interactivity. Likewise, this ties into interactivity. There is positive interactivity and negative interactivity. From a personal perspective, I suggest against asking people to read your stories. If I find something and like what I see ... I'll read it! Readers don't want to feel obliged and forced to read something out of sympathy.
