I saw through the monitor on how everything is after I left...
They all looked happy, and I can't help but smile at it.
"Well, it looks like you've done another great job, Schnier-kun..." -I hadn't realized that my boss had stepped in, but overall she's smiling.
"Thank you... But anyway, of all dimensions, why did you send me to that one? They could have noticed me..." I asked.
"But they didn't, now did they? and after all, you're not that similar anymore. Or perhaps you haven't noticed the difference in your hair and eye color?" She said, point taken as she shoved me a mirror.
"Well, to be honest, your face isn't that same anyway... You have a different DNA on your body. You're practically a whole different person with a dead man's memory." another point, but this time I flinched.
"Yes, Yes, I understand that I've died... I just sometimes forgot about it, okay?" -I did not mean to sulk, but I guess that's what I'm doing now. I know that it's childish but I'm blaming on this child body of mine.
It didn't help when she ruffled my hairs before then offering me a lollipop, granted, strawberry flavored. But despite of the temptation, I refused...
My boss sighed as she pulled off the offer, "Sorry... I know that you're not fond of your situation. But I promise that I'm doing my best to get you back to your own family... So, please bear it for a bit longer, okay?" -She tried again, and this time she instantly wins my heart when she represents me a strawberry shortcake.
I huffed, "It's not fair... you can't always bribe me like this! I will eventually stop." -but still I take the cake, and so she giggled.
"Eventually it is... but for now, I'll let you enjoy your cake." She said, giggling again as I started to stuff a spoonful of the cake to my mouth.
"Oh, but I have to warn you that after you finished, there's another dimension needed of your presence..." -at this, I groaned.
"Man, give me a break!" but my complaints turned out to be muffled. Well at least, I've shown my irritation by rolling my eyes.
"Sorry, Schnier. But worlds won't stop moving even for you. Don't worry, I'll set you a little vacation after that one, and for adding, I'll bake you a three-layer strawberry cake for compensation. Sounds good?"
Well, it's not like I have other choices...
"Fine... I'll do it... make sure to put lots and lots of strawberry on it." -and she grinned.
"Consider it done~!" then with a thumbs up, she turned on her heels and finally leaving me on my own.
"...At least, now there are only a few months left..." I murmured. Eyes softened as I glanced at a photograph of me and my family.
Smiling away, I decided to just finish my sweets before then heading off to my next mission...
