Saturday Evening

July 4th 2020

We all got in the car and started driving to the site where we'd be seeing the fireworks. We found a spot on the top of a hill and set down chairs and blankets. Jake made snacks for us to enjoy while we were watching and Daniel bought sodas and water. Bianca and Jake sat next to me on the blanket and we started to eat some of the food. "Jake, I forgot how good you were at cooking" Bianca said with her mouth full. Jake's face goes to a faint pink, "thanks" he says quietly.

 August had happened to be at the house so he came along too. He asked to take some pictures of us and we agreed. he had us get into a group and smile. He showed us the picture and I thought it was cute. "can you send it to me" I asked him. "as soon as I have it downloaded onto my computer" he smiled. I sat back down and Jack sat next to me instead of Bianca and Jake. "Hey" Jack smiled at me. I smiled back and looked down. "whats wrong" he lifted my chin. "I still feel bad for yelling at you" I looked into his dark eyes. He quietly laughed. "what" I questioned why he was laughing. "you're still worried about that?" he moved closer to me. "a little..." I whispered. "I already told you that its fine" he wrapped an arm around me. "I know...I just don't like how I reacted" I leaned my head on his shoulder.

Soon enough, the sun was down and the first firework went off. I watched as kids played and others 'ooh'ed and 'ah'ed. during every pause people clapped at the display. I was just waiting to go home and sleep. 

The finale of the display was almost up. I looked at Jack while he wasn't paying attention and kissed his cheek. He turned his head and smiled. our lips connected for the second time today but this time I didn't feel as nervous as i had felt before, all I did was kiss back. we broke the kiss together as the display had finished and we both smiled and laughed a little. Everyone clapped and started to pack everything into the car.

After we dropped Jake and Bianca off at the apartment building the were staying at we all went home. Everyone started to get ready to sleep because we were all tired. it was nearly two in the morning because we had gone out to eat after the firework display.

I took a shower and then changed into some shorts and a tight T-shirt. I put my hair up and shut the lights off. I grabbed my phone and started to talk to Jack over text.

After a while of texting

she is isn't she?

yep. for sure.

anyway, are you doing anything

i'm just being bored with out you with me

There was no response after a bit and I was about to ask where he had gone but then my door opened and I saw Jack walk in with sweatpants and no shirt. He came over and set his phone on the side table. He lied on the bed next to me. "hi" I whispered. "hi" he whispered back. We talked for a little bit and I eventually fell asleep.
