I have a prayer
For the child in a man's body
He acts so festively
Yet burden's his friends with sobs
The child in a man's body
Oh he loves too much too little
To know what love is really
He can only pretend to be
The swan in the lake
But he is always weak inside
I have a prayer
For the man in the child's body
He thinks too strangely
And knows no innocence
The man in the child's body
Always misunderstood
Perhaps he'll be sent to the hospital
And they'll crack his brain open
He can only pretend to be dumb
For so long
I have a prayer
For the one in his own body
The one who speaks too rashly
Whose love is an error
Thin, irrational
Intangible
Who laughs, who cries
Whose bones ache
Whose muscles scream
Who feels inhumane
In a human way
This I have a prayer
My prayer to the soul
Who lives today
I wish that he live the best
For himself
