Knock knock knock.
"Miss Hart, you best awaken now if you don't want to be late for your first day of university." Preston, our butler called out while knocking on my door.
It's the first day of university already? I quickly rose up from my bed and checked the calendar. September 1st. Oh, what a glorious day! The day I've been waiting for is finally here! I quickly gathered my outfit and ran to the bathroom where my maids have prepared my bath. Ah... what a nice way to start the day. All the veins in my body seemed to slowly relax as my body made contact with the warm water. I wonder what university would be like. Is it like high school? My brother used to love going to university. I wonder if I'd like it...
"Miss Hart, I'm sorry to interrupt your bath but it's best for you to hurry. Maxon's waiting for you by the garden." Preston called out from outside, interrupting my thoughts.
"That would do, Preston. Thank you very much." I said, dismissing him.
I loved my household service. They're all so posh and polite to us. I wonder how much they get paid.
I quickly got my purse and descended the long flight of stairs and into the kitchen. Oops, no more time for breakfast. I grabbed an apple from the fridge and hurried out.
"Preston, I'm leaving. Have a nice day!" I called out, before heading out.
"Thank you, miss! Good luck on your first day!" He shouted from who knows where.
Preston is basically like my dad, except he's not. He's usually the only one home. My dad's always busy flying around the world because of business affairs and my mom's been MIA ever since I was born. My older brother's moved to LA to pursue his music career. So, I only have Preston and the maids for company. But I don't mind. Preston's a cool dad.
"Maxon?"
"Yes, Ms. Hart?"
"Please call me Jules. I don't know how namy times we have to get pass this topic." I said while rolling my eyes jokingly.
Maxon is my personal driver. He's just two years older than me but unfortunately his family didn't have enough money for him to study in a university. I wanted to help him out but he refused to accept our family's help. Plus he said he need to work in order to pay for his little sister's needs. What a sweetheart!
"Yes.... Jules?" He said jokingly.
"How's your sister?"
"She's... getting better." He said unsure of himself.
His sister has some rare blood disease and the doctors said that it would take a miracle for her to completely recover. The best they could do was to prolong her life a bit longer.
"That's great! I'd like to pay her a visit if that's alright with you."
"Oh, it's alright. Just tell me when you want to see her."
"Okay." I mumbled as we passed through the school gates.
Wow! I never knew that Preston University was this grand! There was a huge fountain by the entrance with students around it just laughing and enjoying themselves. As Maxon drove me around the university, I saw that there were different colleges with different types of people around it.
"Here we are, Miss... Jules. Good luck on your first day!" He said, stopping in front of a huge hall.
"Thanks a lot, Maxon. See you after class." I said, stepping out of our car.
I didn't know what to do so I probably looked weird, standing outside the hall. Hordes of people were walking past me. Oh boy, this is gonna be a tough first day.
