It was my first day at Hopewood Middle School. I was not excited. I'd been to five different schools in one semester because my dad couldn't keep one house.
"You ready for your first day of your new school?" Dad asked as I brushed the knots out of my long auburn hair.
"Does it look like I'm ready?" I return in a snarky tone.
"No... but could you hurry a little? The doors open up at 7:30 and school starts at 8:00. I want to get you there by at least 7:20 and it's 7:15."
"Okay, whatever. I'm almost done anyways." I finished brushing my hair, put my shoes on, grabbed my bag, and we left.
When we arrived it was 7:25. I got out of the car and waved my dad off as he drove away. As soon as he'd left, I turn to my new school. Hello Hopewood, meet your newest student. Valerie Isabella Pèrez.
