Grayson's POV

I was outside training with my Dad's Beta Damion's son, Jason, when Beta Damion came outside to see us rolling on the ground and each of us shouting, "SAY IT! SAY IT!"

"Gray, Alpha Aaron wishes to speak with you." I looked up at him, I was currently pinning Jason down by his shoulders trying to get him to say 'uncle'.

"Can't it wait?" I asked. "I'm a little busy right now." I looked pointedly at Jason who was struggling, trying to get out of my grip. I chuckled at his attempt of escape, he was strong, but I was still Alpha, therefore, stronger. Damion grinned, but shook his head.

I huffed before getting up and dusting myself off. "You're lucky your dad came to rescue you or you would've been a dead man."

Beside me, Jason groaned as he stretched, a few cracks audible. "One of these days, Collins, I'll beat you. And when I do, you'll regret ever knowing me."

I smirked, "Yeah, sure you will, Stone," using his last name, I ruffled his dark red hair, which he had gotten from his father before sticking my tongue out, mocking him, but he just flipped me off and told me to get lost. I laughed and ran back to my house.

As I entered my dad's large, modern office and noticed he was leaning back in his chair, rubbing his forehead. I became worried, "Dad? What's wrong?"

His eyes flew open, revealing a dark, blue color which I had inherited. "Son, I hadn't noticed you had come in." He chuckled and ran his big hand through his greying, brown hair. "Must be because I'm getting old."

I laughed and then turned serious, "What did you need me for, Dad?"

His happy expression morphed into one of regret and grief - two things I've never see on my father, Alpha of the Midnight Woods packs, look like. "Grayson, you do know of our long-time enemies; the Silver Moon pack, correct?" I nodded, unsure of where this was leading to. "Well, it looks like we're going to have to form an alliance with them, seeing how the number in rogues are growing and their greed for land and power, too."

I growled stubbornly, "Why should we? We're a pretty large pack, we can take care of ourselves. We don't need their help. Besides, there are other packs," My wolf growled also, agreeing.

My dad shook his head again, "While three hundred is a pretty big number for some packs, but we'll need all the help we can get. Now, the Silver Moon pack has around four hundred members and with them, we'll stand a chance against the rogues if they ever try to steal our land or create problems with us. Problems meaning war and yes, there are other packs, but they're not as close as the Silver Moon pack."

He does have a point, my wolf grudgingly agreed.

I clenched my fists, hating to admit it, but it was true. Besides, my father, although an Alpha, was always so carefree and joyful. But, right now, he was dead serious. He must think this is the best way to protect the pack. If he thought that, then it probably was.

"So, Alpha James and I have formed an alliance. But, seeing as how we don't trust each other, we've come up with something that'll symbolize the alliance, forever."

I stared, confused. "What are they asking for?"

He sighed, "Actually Grayson, both Alpha James and I thought that the best way to bond our packs was to have a physical representation."

I furrowed my eyebrows, "What do you mean, 'physical representaton'?

My father looked at me long and hard before announcing in a grave voice, "Grayson, you're going to have to marry Alpha James' daughter."
