The loneliness loves to creep in at night
It comes from the woods
Through the wall of thick vines
Long spindly fingers grab at my wrists
Begging me to follow its
Trail of unruly fits
Sometimes I follow deep into the woods
Where I find beautiful things
I never knew I could
They unveil to me how it all begins
Manifesting as big as a house
Filled to the top with chagrin
Each room tells a story of pain and despair
You don’t need to tell me
How a thousand souls died there
I can’t walk through the halls tall with pride
This loneliness knows
How to make people cry
It targeted me because I was once weak
But I tore down its walls
So it would leave me be.
