The smell of antiseptics greets me when I regain consciousness again. I can hear the heart monitor beeping next to my hospital bed. I try to lick my lips and find my mouth dry. When I swallow my throat is dry and the pain causes me to start coughing. I sit up to cover my mouth but someone pulls my hands away and replaces them with a cup. "Drink Lucy." I do as I'm told and when the water runs out I open my eyes to see Liam going to get me more. When he turns back around I notice how tired he looks, but he puts on a smile for me.

"Hey. How are you feeling?" I shrug and then wince. "Take it easy Lucy, you aren't fully healed yet." I drink the second cup of water Liam brought me then lean back to rest. "How long have I been in here?" Liam looks down. "Three days..." I frown trying to remember what happened. Liam looks down. "Hey," I cradle his head with both of my hands and lift it up so I can see his face. He opens his eyes. "Lucy... I was so worried about you." A small pang goes through me. "Liam, I'm here. I am right here with you, you don't have to worry about me."

"Lucinda... you have a concussion, a broken wrist, a broken nose, and you bruised several ribs." Shocked, I stay silent. Then my brain recognizes the pain. I frown. "Liam, my ribs and wrist are throbbing, but otherwise I feel fine." He looks at me. "It's probably just the pain medication." I think about that for a minute and realize it is the only logical explaination. I shrug again-no pain this time- and agree with Liam.

The door opens and Aunt Hannah walks in, along with the doctor. "Oh good, you're awake. How are you feeling?" I tell the doctor what I told Liam. "Hmm, well let me take a look and see what we have going on here." After about five minutes of the doctor probing my body, he frowns and stands up. "I'm going to need you to follow me Lucinda." I look to Liam and Aunt Hannah. Liam is frowning, as am I, but the look on Aunt Hannah's face is blank and confusing.

"Liam, can you help me up?" He nods. Once he has me standing, both him and Aunt Hannah gently hold onto my arms to help me walk. I shrug them off and tell them I can walk on my own. I only make it to the door before I become dizzy and have to hold onto the frame to stay upright. Liam takes hold of one of my arms and helps me walk the rest of the way. I'm beet red in embarassment, but I let him walk me anyways.

Once we reach our intended destination, the doctor tells me that he is doing an x-ray on my arm and ribs. I get situated and he starts the quick process. Soon enough it is over and he sends us back to my room.

Liam, Aunt Hannah, and I talk about random things while we wait for the doctor's return. When he arrives he is frowning and muttering to himself. He shakes his head then places the x-rays on the boards in the room. The doctor clears his throat then explains the x-rays. "It seems your wrost has healed exceptionally fast. The cast may come off and we can wrap it in a few bandages. It should be fully healed within a week." The doctor mutters something to himself then moves on to the next x-ray. "Your ribs are fully healed, though I suggest keeping them wrapped up for a few more days. Everything else seems fully healed. Once we exchange the cast for the bandages, you can be on your way home." He puts on a fake smile, trying to hide his unease, and leaves us to go find the nurse.
