What Now?

So here's the next chapter and I'm asking for a favor from you guys.... Days go on slowly. I lock my self up in my room and beat my self up about my Mom's death. I feel guilty,  I don't know why, but this guilt is eating me up alive. These voices in my head tell me It's my fualt. They tell me I could've been a better daughter, and their right. I could've been alot better.

The worst part now is Ally still doesn't know what happened and I'm the one who has to tell her.

How do I tell her?

I won't be able to forgive myself if she breaks down crying and turns into someone like me.

Depressed.

Lonely.

Someone who wastes their life away in their room all the time.

No I'm not letting that happen, but i still need to talk her.

I sighed and whispered to my self, "It's now or never."

I got up off my bed and walked into Ally's room. She looked so happy just sitting on her bed reading a magazine and listening to music and I'm about to tell her something that will most likely put her into tears.

I knocked on the open door and Ally looked up at me. I gave her a weak smile and said, "Hey, I need to talk to you."

She smiled and patted a space next to her on the bed. I sat down and took a deep breath.

"Remember how Mom and Dad wen to Florida 'cause they wanted to go on vacation?"

She nodded, "Yeah and they're supposed to come back in a few days."

I felt my eyes starting to get hot, but I'm not about to break down in front of Ally.

"Well.....that might not happen." She looked at me with a confused face.

"What are you talking about? Your starting to scare me a little."  I blinked back tears and kept talking without letting my voice get shaky.

"Ally, before I tell you, you have to promise me you won't turn into me." She looked at me with glossy eyes. She looks like she's ready to cry even though I haven't told her what happened yet.

"Ellie, Your everything I want to be. Your pretty,confident, artistic, musically talented and all the guys want you. Your the number one person I look up to."

I clenched my  jaw. She wasn't making this easy for me. "Ally I just don't want you to become depressed or lonely or anything like that."

She nodded again and looked at me with begging eyes. She wants to know what happened.

"So....Mom won't be coming home Ally..... Dad might not come home either."

Her eyes twisted from confusion to anger to sadness and back to confusion.

"Why?" I tear rolled down my cheek but my voice still didn't sound shaky.

"They were driving don a highway and a drunk driver hit them head on. Mom was pronounced dead at the scene, and as far as I know Dad is in a hospital in florida." She put her head in her hands and started crying. All I could do was hug her.

She looked up at me with black tears rolling down her cheeks and said, "What now Ellie?"

Good question, "I don't know Ally."
