-Chapter 3-

       Previously-      

          Scratching the back of his neck, Kakashi began, "You can say that I know him. Night is, well, how should I say this? Different. He is very different from all of the Anbu and all of the shinobi. Even though Night is a commander of the Anbu, he never...."

Now-

           "...  became a genin nor did he joined the Anbu itself, he grew up in it. As you may have heard, he is strong, even stronger than the Hokage. By the age of ten, he was stronger than most Anbu. He could easily take out any squad if he wanted, but he never really did. He never fought us seriously because he was afraid of hurting us, his family.  

            "We, the Anbu, first met him when he was eight, or so we thought at first. He was badly hurt at the time and there people after him. The Third, wanting to protect him, brought him here, where he believed, he would be safe. 

            "At first the boy would wear a mask, hiding his face from the world. It addition, he always was in a very strong henge. We never asked him why. As time went, he grew very close to us, and we to him. That is when he finally trusted us enough to take of the mask and tell us that he was actually five instead of eight. He told us the reasons why he hides. That is probably the moment that we became much more protective of him. You see, he became like our little brother. All of the Anbu loved him to the point that even if someone tried to think of something harmful to the boy, they would pay. 

            "He somehow managed to convince us to take him with us on the missions. Not long after, he got his first nickname: The Crimson Rose. When the Hokage heard of it, he started to give the boy missions, though he was reluctant at first. It took a lot of convincing, or so I had heard.

          "He became the child of the Anbu, as the Hokage and all of the Anbu named him.  He quickly started to rise through the ranks of the Anbu, even though he wasn't one. No one really minded it. When he became the captain everyone listened to him. No one disobeyed him. They did not want to sadden or dissapoint him. 

             "He was seven, when IT happened. We do not know what exactly happened but we do know that he was badly hurt. How much, we do not know.  He never told us. Ever sense that mission he would smile less often. He smiled trully only to the people he trusted or to the people that could be trusted. That was one of his talents. He could easily tell which people should work in a squad and which should not. Which should work alone.  

            "It was a half a year after that, that he became the commander. The first week he had spend in office locked up, or so the rumor in the Anbu HQ was. I was on the mission at the time, so I am not sure that that is true. It was later that the we found out that he actually finished ALL of the paperwork that ALL of the previous commanders left. 

             "After he became a commander he still left on the missions leaving a blood clone behind. In addition, after becoming a commander, he went on the mission from all over the place and only at night. People say that he was like the night's shadow. Wherever the night was, that is where you will find him. If you were his target, you better run before the night falls. However that is impossible as night would still come no matter where it is. That is how he got his true name, the name that people began to either respect or fear: Night-Shadow, he who shadows the night."

Before I forget, this chapter, even though it tells more about Night, it does not tell the full story. It is much longer and more complicated. In later chapters I would tell more, like about the half mask and his sword. Also more about his two names and why he got the first one. You may even find out Night's real name. But, of course you would. That is if  this story would be completed. You can guise for now if you want.
