Bren's POV~
Digging through my closet I finally found my Nirvana shirt. I threw it on and practically ran downstairs. I slowed as I neared the kitchen. My mom was making breakfast. I sighed, I couldn't afford to skip another meal. Unfortunately, I had to. Me and Luke found a lead on Lindsay's kidnapper.
"Hey Bren, want some breakfast?" I shook my head. I don't know why but i couldn't lie today. I looked up to see a concerned look upon my mother's face.
"Luke is picking me up and we are gonna grab something. Don't worry I am actually eating. Love you mom, gotta run." I faintly heard a sob, but if I turned around I would confess everything. Four years of sneaking around trying to find my sister. As I walked out the door a tear slipped down my cheek. I rubbed it away. Luke's truck pulled into the drive way. I jogged to the truck and jumped in.
"Hey? You okay?" Luke's voice stressed his concern. I nodded and managed to say,"Mom was crying, and I almost confessed." He nodded his head like he understood. I leaned over and kissed his cheek. I had always liked Luke, then when we started looking for Lindsay I pushed my feelings away.
Luke's POV~
When Bren got in the truck I. immediately noticed she had been crying. I pulled out of her drive way and started driving in a different direction than normal.
"Um..... Luke? What are you doing we usually go that way!" Bren questioned. I nodded and kept driving. My best friends, besides Bren, were at a local diner uptown. Bren sighed and sat back when she realized I wasn't going to tell her. The drive was silent, which kinda freaked me out.
"So... I got a really good lead on her-""Yeah, I know. What did you find?" I shifted in my seat. I found her ID around the corner from her house.
"Don't freak out but I found Lindsay's ID around the corner from your house."
