Today was the day I was going to go ice-skating with Charlie. I pull up my black skinny jeans and tie up the laces on my boots. Mum stands by the living room door just staring at me smiling. I take a deep breath and grab my bag. Charlie was already outside my house in his black range rover sport.

"Hey" He said.

"Hi" I shyly said, trying to hide my smile with my right hand.

He wore a white top and a black leather jacket along with black jeans. I stared at him for a while and smiled. He smiled back at me.

We arrived at the rink, it wasn't as busy as I thought it would be. Charlie grabbed my arm and took me over to try skates on.

"sorted?" he asked.

"Yes".

I haven't been skating for a while and I wasn't as good as I thought I would be. Charlie was skating everywhere he seemed like an expert. Whereas, for me I was falling over all the time. I clung onto the edge and skated at the side.

"Here, take my hand" he said, as he pulled off a cute smile.

"Okay" I blushed.

I took his hand and gently laid my other hand on his shoulder causing him to gasp as I felt uneasy on the ice. He let go of my hand and gently placed his hands around my waist. I leaned in close and rested my head on his chest. He looked down at smiled. For this moment we did not speak, we just smiled at each other and skated slowly around the rink.

I haven't felt this way about anyone like this before. But yet, I thought I couldn't ever love again. I'm slowly falling in love with him.

"I genuinely like you, never felt this way before". He spoke, finally.

"I think I like you too. I want to get to know you more" I answered as I looked up at him.

Okay, times up everyone. Please make your way to the exist.                                                                       Hope you enjoyed your night.

The announcement interrupted. Charlie held my hand tightly and we made our way over to the exist. I looked at him and quickly hugged him. He gasped.

"Thank you for tonight" I said, smiling.

"It's okay, we should do this again sometime". He said as he opened the car door.

We pulled up outside my house. I gave him another quick hug.

"Again, thank you" I said.

"It's okay" He answered.

As I opened my front door I was expecting my mum to still be awake, possibly worrying about how my night was going to go. She was in her room asleep. No lights were left on in the house. I hung up my coat and made my way upstairs. I jumped onto my bed and laid on my back with my phone in the air.

A text came through

''Goodnight beautiful x - Charlie''

'' Night Night xx''

I replied.

I couldn't stop smiling. This has been the best night of my life. Life hasn't been this good ever since things went down hill with my ex. When I'm with Charlie I forget my past, I don't even think about anything negative. I just feel so happy when I was with him, and when I was in his arms I felt safe. It felt like nothing was affecting me anymore.

But now, I wonder how school is going to be on Monday. I wonder if he's going to be with me or if he's going to act like it never happened. I watched the sun set from my window beside my bed.

I felt pretty confident as I walked through the school gates, it was one of those I can definitely make it through today feels. There he was, leaning up against the wall with his phone in his hand.

'I can see you. Come over  x'

He texted me.

I walked over to him and he gave me a huge hug, I smiled and clung on tight.

"How are you?" I asked as I looked up at him.

"I'm great, how are you?" He asked.

"I'm great now" I replied.

He laughed. We held hands as we walked into our Maths class. I sat down with him, and people were staring. I tried to ignore them as I focused on my work.

Lunch came quickly. Charlie had to attend a detention. I was on my on again. I wandered over to an empty bench and ate my lunch. Two girls walked over and sat directly in front of me. They seemed friendly at first.

"so what's your name?" Megan asked.

"Ashleigh" I replied as I pulled out a drink from my rucksack.

They both turned to each other and began to giggle.

"you're clothes are very baggy, are you poor?" Megan asked as she raised her right eyebrow and Alice laughed.

"no" I paused. "it's comfy" I said.

They both laughed, a guy came over. He eyed me up and down.

"who's this chick?" he asked.

"Josh she's poor" Alice said

"I'm not poor" I shouted

"her hair is all" she paused "emo" she laughed and Alice laughed with her.

"it's scruffy" Alice pointed out.

"hey Josh, I saw her following Charlie earlier. She stands no chance" Megan said.

I shook my head and grabbed my bag. I sat down under the tree where I used to sit before.

Baggy clothes were popular where I came from, I didn't think fashion was any different.

Just at the right time Charlie walked over to me. I quickly wiped my tears hoping he didn't notice.

"what happened?" Charlie asked, he already sounds pissed off.

"just girls" I bluntly answered.

Charlie tutted and wrapped his arms around me. I took a deep breath and tried to hold my tears. He squeezed me tight and tears came pouring out. He wiped my tears and smiled at me.

What was different about charlie was that he wasn't irritating and kept asking me questions about what happened and he didn't say that very annoying 'don't cry' stuff because it's not like I chose to cry I can't just stop crying. He just held me tight and it was very comforting and perfect.
