A brief summer rain
I'm outside looking to the sky.
I hear thunder, but the ground is dry.
Rain lands on my face,
I do not loath the desert states.
I close my eyes and extend my arm,
As the raindrops start to swarm.
I feel the thunder roll and crack,
As I lay down on my back.
I see puddles start to form,
Like a cookie, fresh and warm.
I smile and jump and splash around,
What true happiness I have found!
The rain stops, yet I still play,
All my troubles, gone away.
All you need is a brief summer rain,
Simply to take away the pain.
The hideout
All the scattered fallen leaves,
All the tall majestic trees.
All the promises and secrets,
All are kept upon the creek beds.
All the people, sacred and bound,
By a bracelet, simple and brown.
All the members of the squad,
Like a group of peas in a pod.
We stand by our hideout bliss,
Because it's something we would miss.
